  1. Fellow Yelper Tina C. recommended this gluten-free (GF) and organic thai joint – that girl could read minds as I've been foaming at the mouth for some good drunk man noodles lately. I usually order from Sukhumvit 51 but gave this place a try – it's a bit pricier ($15), and most, if not all of us, have no way of knowing whether the added on protein is organic, but at least it gives one a peace of mind. I thoroughly enjoyed it the drunk man noodles with chicken. I have a gluten allergy so this was absolutely perfect for me and I see myself becoming a regular Seamless orderer from Rhong Tiam – I asked for hot sauce on the side … but nothing beats regular sriracha (which I also can't have but there's a gluten free version I got on Amazon) on thai food. The noodles were well cooked and the veggies were fresh and crispy, and the overall taste was great – I think a lot of gluten-free dishes are just… bland or blah, but this wasn't.
Other than the not-so-friendly price for delivery lunch food in the neighborhood, I'm putting this on my favorites list for eat-in lunch!

  2. I heard of Rhong Tiam a long ago but was never in the same place as it. So, imagine my excitement to see that this place replaced Desi Shack (never visited). It's only been open for 2 weeks.

The portions are not small, but they're not super generous, and I love the organic/cleaner ingredients.

    I've tried:
    – Chicken pad thai. Succulent pieces of organic chicken. Go spicy if you like heat!
    – Drunk Man with beef: Also good but strangely I like the pad thai more.
    – Kao soi. Pricier. This was delicious. The more I think about it, the more I want to eat more. Thin egg noodles, topped w/ some crunchy noodles, then you dunk it all in a chicken peanuty curry sauce. There's enough curry sauce so you can dunk other things in it. Must get this if you love texture and addicting sauce.
    – Satay. Can't go wrong. Seriously they give the chicken justice.
    – Berkshire pork on fire. Great as a side (I can't see myself ONLY eating this). Spicy!

We ordered the above for 4 people to eat for lunch and it was a perfect amount.

Decor: It's a small joint. They have window seating and a large communal table. It gets packed during prime eatingn time, so it's best to take it to go. Call in advance to place an order to avoid waiting.

  3. I'm a big fan of Thai food.. But this place is a bit overpriced. I ordered a veg tofu drunk man noodle and the tofu was nowhere to be found. Not even one little lonely piece. Their Seamless prices are about $3-4 more per dish so you might as well call in for a pick up directly.

  4. Love love love loved this place! I am vegan and gluten free – which typically doesn't go so well with Thai food. The gluten free Thai food that I have had so far – is either bland or watery or (shudder) not gluten (believe it or not, this has happened in the past).

So, I was really excited to see this place open close to my office which advertises itself as "gluten free and organic". While everything is not gluten free and organic, they do have several options.

I tried the drunken man with vegetables and tofu — oh and it was oh so good! Its basically their take on drunken noodles, but instead of using wheat flat noodles, it is made with rice noodles. It was spicy and oh-so-delicious!

I will definitely be returning to eat it again and try their other offerings!

  5. Gluten Free (gf), organic, with vegan options – why yes please.
I had the spicy thai basil with tofu which came with your choice of white or brown rice. It was a good portion but did not have as much tofu as I'd expect. Nonetheless I was satisfied with the meal, it was quite good having the perfect spice and not overly salty (some thai places really like sodium).

Lunch or dinner here can easily cost you around $12-$20, and considering this is Lexington Ave. I'm not surprised.
The seating here is limited, it's definitely a spot to grab and go and would recommend take out.

I'll be back the next time I have a Thai food craving, it most definitely hit the spot!

P.S. Please add seitan on the menu, I will be forever graetful. #vegan

  6. The pad thai was just OK… a bit bland BUT not greasy at all. A healthier take-out, I suppose. The prices were also a bit high compared to other places in the neighborhood. I wouldn't go out of my way for Rhong Tiam but I wouldn't decline it either.
