Despite all the Yelp reviews I write, I have a special place in my heart for good pad Thai, as basic as it may sound. Honey's definitely did not disappoint. If you're in the area for work or play and need a quick Thai fix, come to Honey's: great friendly staff (I think they're Chinese 😉 and chicken pad Thai with mood lighting in the afternoons, as evidenced by my beautiful photography. Location is a bit iffy and space is tight, but food is a solid four stars.
This is the closest place from my work so I have been getting several to go orders. I thought this place was not bad. They are very quick on taking orders. I have ordered pad thai and calamari, which seems to be pretty adequate. Price is reasonable. Pretty good lunch option or to go option around the area.
I decided to try this place based on the favorable reviews some of my Yelp friends gave it. I've been struggling to find good Thai (or any Asian for that matter) in the Bronx so I was excited to try this place.
The restaurant itself is small but they make good use of the space. They do take-out so when you walk into the restaurant you'll see the take-out counter to the right with the dining room to the left. The decor is simple – plain wooden tables and chairs with Asian touches on the walls. There is a big-screen television on the wall that was set to a channel playing music.
The menu has a large variety of dishes but isn't too overwhelming. We started simple with the spring rolls – the dough had that good crispy/chewy balance and they had ample filling. It came with duck sauce to dip which had a mild spice to it; I was pleasantly surprised! For my main I had the garlic shrimp which was shrimp stir-fried with garlic sauce and mixed veggies, it came with a generous portion of white rice on the side. My dish was super tasty – filled with flavor and not overly salty at all.
Service was good – our waitress was attentive and friendly.
Overall, I had a great experience at Honey's and I'm glad I found an Asian restaurant close to home that's not just take-out. Definitely worth a return trip.
I just left Honey's Thai Pavilion not more than 5 minutes ago and I must say it's already one of my favorite Thai restaurants in New York so far.
The staff is very nice, that's important to me. The decor is also a little spiffy, which is nice, but I'll go to a five if it's good food.
I ordered green curry with tofu and vegetables and it was very tasty! The food also arrived quickly. We were in and out of the restaurant in roughly 30 minutes.
My only significant problem was the portions are a little small. But I'd rather have quality food. Besides, it was enough. I'm not hungry anymore.
Another thing is I don't like is that they charge you one dollar extra for brown rice, so I ended up paying $9.50 for lunch special, but that seems to be standard fare for Thai restaurants in New York.
It appears convenient, near a subway station and a major intersection, but if you're driving, chances are you'll have to pay standard NYC street parking fees.
I will definitely come back to Honey's if I return to the area!
Have gotten delivery from here a few times. The place is very average Thai food. I don't know any better Thai restaurants in the area so if you live nearby and are craving Thai, this is probably your only option. I had the chicken panang which is my go to at any Thai place so I have a lot to compare it to. My main reason for 3 stars is because the chicken quality was quite poor. It was dark meat and fatty and mostly tasted like rubber. The sauce and vegetables were actually not too bad. I'd recommend vegetarian or tofu here and skipping out on the meat all together. My other complaint is that their delivery standards frequently change. Sometimes they will deliver to where I work, sometimes they won't, sometimes the minimum order will change. It's quite variable.
Came here in search of a lunch special. The place was empty, I don't know why, their food was outstanding ! Lunch special price was reasonable, and I really liked they let me get club soda as my soda (some places are weird with that).
When I ordered my pad Thai she asked if I had any egg or nut allergy so I thought it was really nice how attentive she was. Food was brought out quickly and hot and beautifully presented. Will absolutely come back here next time am in the area.
The food is not all that it's cracked up to be, you'll wait forever for delivery and the price isn't right. The actual restaurant is nice and so are the people that work there.
Great find near my friend's apartment. The quality and prices were pleasantly surprising! She'll definitely be back now that she's found this place, and I'm sure I'll join her on occasion when I'm in the area.
