Court Street Bagels
“While I think the bagels are better at La Bagel, the bacon egg and cheese is much better here!”
“But I will tell you that the staff is warm and friendly, the bagels are perfect, the cream cheese choices are many and delish, and the iced coffee is superb.”
“The morning special was a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on your choice of bagel or roll (the whole wheat everything bagel was killer!)”

Friendly staff and great location on court st. Catches people heading out to the trains and coming from.
My review is based solely on the bagels.
Freshly made, if you come early enough you can kind of smell the scent of bagels permeate the air along court and bergen. If you get flavored bagels, the toppings are densely spread throughout the bagel. Flavor is notable. Agreed with most other reviewers, not the best bagel but still great and competitively priced.
Love the cream cheeses they got. Scallion is probably my favorite. Simple cream cheese with a subtle hint of scallion. Lots of variety, so try them all.
They also sell bags of day old bagels. Always buy a bag when I'm in need of bagels at home, great to throw into the freezer and toast when you randomly need a breakfast meal.

Part 2 of our bagel Sunday. Wait in line and an employee will be over to take your order. I had a toasted sourdough bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese ($5). It came out quick and hot. The owner was super friendly and made sure everyone was taken care of. This bagel was thick but a little too dough-y for my taste. The eggs were fresh. There was a thick layer of crumbled bacon. The American cheese was amble and melted. It was very filling. This is where where you should get a bagel if you ar hungry.
I also had the Columbian Ice Coffee but they put a bit too cream in it for my liking.
Bagels are pretty good here! My everything was great! Bagel was a great consistency, flavor was delicious. They clearly boil then bake their bagels (the only way!). My husband wasn't as big of a fan of his salt bagel, but in my opinion those seem to be more difficult to get right. Something about the salt drying out the bagel. Anyways, he still enjoyed it. The staff move through the line very quickly and no one has to wait very long. Only down side is they only take cash.
Living in Carroll gardens for 19 years and you get a good taste of everything in a good 2 mile waking radius. Court street bagels are at the further end for me but when up near Atlantic you'd be hard pressed to find better quality bagels or nicer staff.
The layout of the store is unfortunate and cramped (which loses a star) but the staff really does go out of their way to make up for it. Ordering and moving back toward the tables is your best bet. When everything is ready they'll bring it up to you. This was particularly helpful when we were in there with two hungry kids and a stroller during lunch hour.
The actual bagels have great flavor with the right amount of crisp and chew to the crust with a soft, yet firm inside. They toast up well and don't put too much cream cheese on that it becomes a major mess.
Coming here with a hankering for a great New York barrel and you won't leave disappointed.
Yikes. Bought a plain bagel with scallion cream cheese for $4.25. Even bagels in Manhattan aren't that expensive..
What has happened to you? To US?
I thought we had an understanding, a mutual respect. When we first met, you made the effort. You always had fresh, hot bagels with plenty of everything on the everything. Lately? It's like you don't even care if I come around or not. Sure, sometimes I catch you on a good day, and things are almost the way they used to be. But then I'll come back again, and your bagels are burned, or stale, or both.
Is it something I did? Did we just get too comfortable in our relationship? I'm sorry if I took you for granted, but I know you can tell things aren't the same anymore.
I'm not sure how to say this, but…I wanted you to hear it from me. I know how people in the neighborhood talk. Well, here it is: I've been going over to Mocha, and sometimes even La Bagel Delight.* Because they appreciate me. They satisfy me the way that you used to.

Fresh and made daily! This is my go to spot to soothe my bagel cravings. During the a.m. rush it's normally crowded however there are more than enough attentive and efficient staff to have you in and out in under 3 minutes typically. THEY'RE CASH ONLY.
They have over 10 different types of bagels and over 15 flavors of cream cheese so there are many combinations to try. During breakfast hours they also served your typical* bacon egg and cheese sandwiches and the like off a hot grill in the kitchen. Muffins, Danishes and sliced cake/bread is offered at the front counter.

I gave up bagels because I like to deprive myself of life's most bounteous joys (and also because gluten wreaks havoc on my health), but I promised myself that I could have one the weekend of my birthday.
I dreamed about this bagel all darn week. It would be hot and chewy, scattering sesame and poppy seeds in its wake, stuffed with cream cheese, lox, onion, and tomato. It would be like heaven in my mouth, and it would be worth the guilt and the carbs and the way I'd feel crappy later, and I would eat the whole entire thing.
Dreams like this are best achieved at a bagel place you know and trust, but I was going to be in the neighborhood and this place got such good reviews, I decided to give it a chance.
A bagel place only needs to do one thing: make a great gosh-darn bagel. Court Street Bagels failed. My dreams were dashed. There was the lox and the onion and the cream cheese and tomato, but that thing they were wedged inside of – I couldn't even call it a bagel. It was like someone had cut an ouroboros out of Wonder Bread and stuck some seeds on top.
I was, and remain, devastated.
