  1. This place is really cute for the small space they have. They make it work. Its an open kitchen so you might come out smelling like food. In the summer its very cute because they have a few tables outside to sit in. They also have a great lunch special and quick delivery. The food is always consistent as well. And the staff is friendly.

  2. My favorite local Thai restaurant.

Small in space yet a very cozy comfortable place. Located in a very quiet neighborhood which has few options, makes this restaurant stand out.

Great lunch specials with big portions $7.99 for an appetizer and main.

I had the pad thai and a spring roll. Delicious and tasty. Perfection.

  3. Pretty good stuff. I'm rating them based solely on delivery food and perhaps only *slightly* influenced by the fact that the delivery guy spilled a Thai iced tea on my carpet…

The crispy duck spring rolls were fried and bland. I could not tell there was duck in there. It might as well have been vegetables. Or paper.

But I love the Tom Kha Kai (Coconut Milk Soup). It is really filling and cheap at $3.95. Add to that some coconut sticky rice and you have a meal*, if not exactly meeting the delivery minimum (which explains my ordering the very sweet Thai iced tea).

The Pad See You Lunch Special ($6) which I got with tofu/vegetables were some decent, if a little boring, flat noodles and a smattering of the promised tofu and maybe two vegetables. What I loved (although not the part about them being shoved into a tiny, leaking bag) were the two chicken dumplings I chose for the appetizer part of the lunch special.

I'll be back because there ain't much in this 'hood on seamlessweb and the food is pretty good for the price.

Perhaps you non-weenies might report back on the spicy food.

Perhaps it's better and they will magically not deliver it leaking, as they do most other things.

    * "and you got a stew goin'!"

  4. I love Thai Tony's! Nice environment, professional, fast, courteous. I can't go here as much as I want to because I have severe gluten allergy and they tend to put soy sauce (which unless is Tamari has wheat) into most of their dishes- but the things I can have- like curry fried rice and their specialty drinks are especially delicious. Great neighborhood staple.

  5. ordered here when i was away from the fortress of awesomeness known as the LES! there seem to be a lot more options opening up in Kensington area…this being one of them.

for good THAI food made relatively quickly, this is your place. i will remark the takeout menu is well-designed and not one of those crappy generic ones made at Kinkos. the person picking up the phone was friendly, intelligent, spoke English…we ordered the curry puffs (YUM), the asian wings (which were actually chicken wings not those mutant-small ones sauteed and were quite tasty), the ribs (DELICIOUS), the basil noodle dish (which was simple and good, nothing mindblowingly) and one of the rice/coconut/cocholate desserts (good if you are a sweet tooth and desire something off-the-beaten path). the bill came out to about $30 for two people and lots of food….great bang for the buck.

one thing i will remark is the food was not overfried or permeated with lard…so if you're looking for food that is your typical greasey takeout…this isn't the place for you. from what we tried, the food was light, tasty, and definitely hit the spot on a lazy Friday night. and delivery was quick as heck!

i would definitely put Thai Tony's on your speed dial for outstanding eats at low prices.
