Spice Chelsea Corner
“Good strong flavors (though I'll say that the papaya salad lacked a bit of "kick").”
“Lemongrass chicken is a super tender cutlet in veggies.”

Pretty standard nice Thai food. Don't have much to say. It was in Chelsea market and good for a quick bite. Choices are carb heavy, mostly rice and rice noodles.
Got the curry fish noodle, number 81 on the menu. The curry was a little spicy and not so sweet. Other friends got pad Thai which was good.
The restaurant was not well decorated. Very basic, casual, and plain place. It was more like a cafeteria than a restaurant in my opinion. They also sell some Asian spicy sauce and ingredients.

Went to dinner with friends at Spice. It was pretty late at night and I was surprised they were still open at that our. First, the interior has a very industrial feel with steel solid tables, but I really liked the cool lighting they had.
I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai which unfortunately tasted way too sweet. I think it's because they added too much sauce and it really overpowered every aspect of the dish. It was also very difficult for us to get any service or stop a waiter. I literally had to walk over to the cashier a few times in order to get them to come over.
I'm unimpressed given how much competition there is in Manhattan for good Thai restaurants.
-First Impression- Very cool color scheme going on here! I love the ambiance! Looks like the PERFECT place for a date 😉
-Food- All I ordered from here was the crab rangoon, to go. I am not a fan of seafood, but it sounded good so… YOLO! The wonton part of it was nice and crunchy and the inside was soft and delicious. I am now a fan of crab rangoon, lol!
-Service- The hostess was very sweet. She repeated the order my friends and I had made to be sure it was correct and was very patient with us as we fumbled with out cash while we tried to split the bill. We waited at the bar for our food which was brought out to us by another staffer and were on our merry way!
-Price- Is $6 too much for six bites of food?
-Did Not Like- I wasn't keeping track, but it felt like the food was taking quite a bit of time to come out
-Noteworthy- Apparently this place used to be at a different location…?
-Recommended?- Yes, I would come back here for a dine-in experience
It was something in the area before a comedy show and I could not eat meat, so my boyfriend and I stopped it. The people were very friendly and the service was attentive, but the food and drink were just average. It had flavor but not too much. I had the 6'o Clock fried rice with tofu, which was supposed to be spicy, but it wasn't. My boyfriend had the walnut shrimp, which was good and flavorful.
Lapin and I came in here one night for a late dinner. We were seated right away and our waitress was nice. We ordered the Golden Fritters which were good. Lapin ordered the crispy calamari. He got a huge helping and didn't finish all of it. He said it was okay, nothing great about it. We got the Red Thunder fried rice with shrimp. I liked it but he wasn't overly ecstatic about it. We ordered a couple of drinks which were good and definitely worth the $5. Overall, the food is decent and you can easily get a filling cheap dinner here.
This used to be my go to for take out but not any more.
Last week I picked up take out chicken with cashew . Got home and found pad thai instead. I called them up and they said not to worry they will bring the right order over. Upon delivery the driver says don't worry you can keep the pad thai…brilliant lucky me. What else was you going to do take it back and re sell it.
So now I am happy until this time I found a piece of GLASS in it. Ok feck this I'm eating the cold pad thai.
I went back tonight and whilst ordering i mentioned the glass incident from last week. He smiled and said " what's your order " . A sorry would have gone a long way but instead he played dumb.
Anyway I leave and go to eat my soup and they have given me a fork instead of a spoon with chopsticks.
Spice you need to sort it out . Glass is not an ingredient and soup is served with a spoon.
I've been here more than a few times – it's a great place to take visitors from out of town who are traveling via Penn Station since it's fairly close by. The service , in my experience, has always been speedy, and they are very attentive to filling your water glass as necessary and bringing you water as soon as you're seated, which is a huge plus for me.
The menu is decently priced, and the food has always been excellent on my visits. Last night I had the grilled honey duck and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked, rich, moist, and the sauce is sweet but not too sweet. The plating of the dishes is beautiful, and the ambiance is great-candles on every table and it isn't so loud that you can't hear yourself speak.
The waitress brought our check as soon as we asked and brought our credit cards back promptly which is not that common in my experience. Overall, excellent service, and delicious, affordable food. Definitely worth trying if you are in the neighborhood.
The place is spacious and modern. The menu has a large variety of dishes and the prices are reasonable.
The spicy calamari, spicy lo mein, and the chicken pad thai were very good. Be prepared for the big portions.
The service was good and we were attended to immediately.
