  1. This place has great Vietnamese egg rolls. They are always served hot and fresh, packed with lots of meat and veggies within a golden crunchy skin. I enjoy coming here with my boyfriend and his friends and I notice they always order the egg rolls as a starter. (I interpret that as a good sign since they're all Vietnamese.)

I can always finish the pho here. I eat a lot for a girl but I usually can never finish a bowl of pho by myself except when I'm here. Still, I'm never left hungry by the time I finish my pho so the amount of serving is fine with me. I like my pho with tripe and brisket and I think this place actually offers plenty. It's a good meat to noodle ratio even though the overall portions are a lot smaller than other vietnamese places.

    I like it.

  2. I came here for dinner by myself. Its located somewhere in the middle of nowhere to me. Inside is really dim, quiet and awkward.

I got the mung bean shake and a beef stew noodle soup. It was just ok.

I would not go out of my way to dine here.

  3. We used to come here more often when my fiancé lived in Piscataway. It's located in a small strip mall on a busy road, so a little hard to miss. Last Saturday, we returned after a few years. They weren't busy at all, so we were seated right away.

We ordered grilled chicken with rice vermicelli, curry chicken and rice, and curried vegetables over rice vermicelli. (mine) I wanted to have some of their "Fresh coconut juice", but when I found out that it was from a can. Booooo!

Our orders came out quick and we all devoured our food. Mine was delish, but a bit soupy for me. I decided not to take my leftovers home, but it still had good flavor, and not too much heat.

Service is good, but sometimes they forget to refill your glass with water, which isn't too helpful when you're eating spicy food! Yikes! Of course we'll be back. Don't sit in the corner of the restaurant closest to the door. When the outside door opens and closes, it's loud and kind of vibrates while you're trying to eat.

Oh and don't forget to BYOB!

  4. We were there lunchtime and by the time we left, every table in the place was occupied so I guess people know about this place.  For me it was my first time here.

Andy had a beef pho and I had a grilled shrimp bun dish.  Both were excellent–hearty portions and full of flavor.  My only probably was getting the shrimp out of the shell but once I did it was delicious.  We were kicking ourselves for not ordering appetizers because we saw some really good stuff going by our table.

Service was good especially considering that  the friendly and helpful gentleman who served us may have been the entire wait staff.

Since it was my first visit here, I played it relatively safe by ordering a dish I knew.  Looking forward to going back and trying something new and different.

  5. Upon walking in I noticed it was empty, which is fine I never judge that as any reason to not go here. I realize it may have been because it was Lunch Time and the patrons who did walk in were lunch goers.
My waitress was sweet, but got a little lost while I was eating. The first thing I noticed was the she brought me a half filled cup of water that had finger prints at the top, almost making me not want to eat here. However I stayed an ordered the raved about Avocado Smoothie—which was quite delicious and creamy. I wasn't entirely sure how I would like it, since to me avocado is generally an add on and not the main focus. If you're looking for more flavor you won't like this, but it was true to taste, not refreshing but maybe if you wanted a dessert without getting an actual dessert.
I order my usual Shrimp Pho (this will be the 3rd place I've reviewed) and found it to be smaller than most places or not as filled I suppose. They also used egg and rice noodles, though I found the egg noodles very yellow and more akin to ramen style. It was definitely something I wasn't used to but decent. I don't think I will come back here only based solely on the water glass, and it taking forever to get the waitresses attention for more napkins (the place had two other customers) should not be that hard.
Great place for lunch if you're on the go, maybe I'll come back to try again. Maybe.

  6. This place has the potential to be good but it falls very short. The pho was okay but the trimmings they give you to put in it are scarce and not fresh. You can see the bean sprouts turning brown and we didn't get any herbs to put in the soup. The porkchop rice dish was disappointing. We got 2 small pieces of meat and the rest was a whole lot of rice, cucumbers, but mostly romaine lettuce. Small serving sizes and unattentive service. We won't be back.

  7. At $8/bowl the pho is cheap. Serving size is reasonable but the broth is very greasy and on the blander side. Service is non-existent. I got 1 glass of water and 1 napkin. Have you ever eaten pho with just 1 napkin? It's impossible. There are too many Vietnamese places in this area for this to be worth a trip.

  8. drove past this place one night and thought, "hey a Vietnamese spot near my house that I have not tried, let's go!" And so I did.

It was my boyfriend and I at one table, a regular visitor who spoke to the owner's young daughter (I would presume) at the next table, and the owners and staff in the far corner throwing down drinking Heineken. Dimly lit, with no tunes of asian folklore music in the background, I began to review their menu in hopes for a solid dinner experience that would leave me with a mental bookmark of a Vietnamese spot that I would soon visit.

We had decided to pick the default, Pho, a staple of my diet (shamely part of my weekly diet), and some Cha Gio. What's great about this place is that you can order extra noodles for a buck more. The negative how ever beat the positive. I'm no real judgement of Vietnamese food, I can leave that to my fellow Vietnamese friends to school you. And I'm no Pho connoisseur but I were to hit up a Vietnamese spot, best believe they should have some awesome Pho. The rest you can fudge and play around with. I personally think Pho broth is a balance between spices, savory, mild in flavor and a hint of sweet (especially when you add the squirt of lime). My verdict? —-I really didn't care for their broth so much. And if you love Pho, it's all about the broth.  Their Pho was a little spicy (not hot spicy, spice, spicy). The raw slice beef was nearly if not cooked when served and had sparse portioning too.

Overall I was not too impressed. The Cha Gio gets a single thumbs up for hot and crispy, the Pho is passable, the service is …well, hey, you get some. Will I come again? Maybe if someone invited me. Would I come here willingly? No.
