  1. The pineapple fried rice was tops. The employees were friendly and, though I walked in to pick up my order, the ambiance in the restaurant seemed inviting and cozy. A great spot in Fort Greene.

  2. I'm all for Thai food, so what's better than having Thai food in Jersey? Having Thai food in Brooklyn.

I came here on a Saturday night for my best friend's bday dinner which was sort of a bad idea since there was about 12 of us in a tiny restaurant. Amongst most places in Brooklyn, this grade A restaurant is tiny, maybe 30-40 people max. We sat at a long table next to the door and we were packed in like sardines. I wouldn't suggest having any crowd larger than 4-5 here.

Enough about the space, let's talk about the FOOD. I've had plenty of Thai before and a lot of them are similar so I wasn't expecting the menu to be any different. A lot of things on the menu were the typical dishes you'd normally get (pad Thai, pad see ew, curry dishes, Roti Cani, etc.) However, a few of us did get some fancier dishes such as the Hawaiian duck curry and the short ribs. Both dishes ARE spicy, even if you ask for it mild, but the spiciness of the dish really comes out at the first bite. The mixture of seasoning and spices were perfect and you get the immediate kick of spiciness without it being overpowering to other flavors in the dish. I ordered the Sesame noodle with tofu which came with thick white noodles, bean sprouts, salad on top, and of course, tofu. It was delicious. The noodles were nice and thick and the amount they give you is more than enough for two people to share. Everyone also shared Roti Cani which came out fresh every time. I have to say this is the best Roti I've had. Along with the Roti Cani, was the this crispy crab appetizer (sorry, can't remember the name!) which was sort of like a crab cake with this cream (maybe cream cheese?) inside. The other appetizer we got looked like mini empanadas which was fantastic. The crispiness of the shell wasn't baked TOO long where it's extremely crusty and hard. It was sort enough in the middle to get all the flavors of the meat while enjoying the mild crunchiness of the shell.

As far as service goes, it was decent. We were waited on whenever we needed anything but they didn't come around to ask us if there's anything else we needed. It took a while to order our food after finishing our appetizers and it felt like we had to wave someone down to help us rather than them coming over to ask if everything's ok. The entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating as we were the biggest group in the restaurant. If I'm ever in the area with my husband I would definitely try this place again.

The restaurant wasn't as busy as I thought it would be for a Saturday night and it seemed like a lot of locals come here. Throughout the night there were constant delivery guys going in and out which seems like a lot of their business comes from take out as well. Customers were still coming and going throughout the night but the place was NEVER packed where they couldn't seat everyone.

I do recommend this place for to anyone in the area and if you live in Brooklyn around the restaurant I wouldn't have to tell you about how great the place is. What's better is that it's BYOB so it's a great place to enjoy with a Few friends!

  3. A great Thai place with great food and awesome price! Their lunch prixe dice is an awesome deal. $8 for a small appetizer and entree.

    Interior:
Modern, sophisticated and casual. Not a big place, but has good enough tables.

    Food:
Veggie Rolls – vegetables were nicely seasoned and sautéed. Came out crispy and hot. Extra added awesomeness since it comes free with your entree for lunch special.
Panang Curry – I ordered it with chicken and asked for it to be spicy. It had plenty of chicken and vegetables and some chopped Thai peppers that gave good amount of heat.
Thai coffee – ahhhhhhh. Sooo goood. I don't know why but their Thai coffee tasted extra good. It almost tasted like it had some chocolate syrup in it. I don't think it did, but it just tasted like it.

After a long day of work and shopping at IKEA during a thunderstorm. We came by Thaiholic for dinner. They don't have alcohol but you can bring your own. We started with small order of Fried Tofu. These six golden yellow triangles were slightly crispy on the outside and silky inside. The chicken and shrimp dumplings were a hybrid of shumai and wonton. The four pieces were rather big and had a nice flavor especially with the roasted garlic on top. I am sure about the single piece of bok choy though. The sticky rice came in an hour glass shape. The papaya salad was spicy but sure delicious. They was only a bit of shredded papaya, lots of lettuce, some green beans, tomatoes, and peanuts. The spice made my tongue a bit numb and face warm. The main course was Shrimp Pad Thai Noodles covered in an omelette. It was semi spicy, sweet, slightly sour, and somewhat salty. The shrimp were fresh but greatly overcooked. The plate was huge and filling. We even had leftovers. I can't wait to go back.

  5. Extra tom yum for you! (you being Thaiholic) for having tasty thai toppings and for being BYOB (or at least since about July 2015).

The food is definitely better than your average neighborhood Thai spot and it's relaxed enough you can hit it guilt-free for a casual lunch spot. Then when the lights go down, the candles get lit and you can hit it up as a convenient quick go-to date spot.

  6. Came here with some friends on a Saturday afternoon-the vibe was chill and low key. I ordered a Thai iced coffee and some veggie fried rice-it was delicious!! The coffee was a great treat for a spring day (I usually drink black coffee) and the rice was awesome. I tried some of everyone else's food too and everything was good. Portions were a perfect size and everything was so affordable. The service was friendly and quick. I'll definitely be back. Wish I had known it was BYOB-next time!

  7. Hooray for a really, truly great takeout thai. We went for the $8 lunch specials and were not disappointed. Everything was terrific. I wouldn't hesitate to send the hubby out on a night in need to Thaiholic. Alas, not in our immediate area but that's ok: it exists, it's great and it is worth a bit of a schlep for the payoff.

  8. I've come here a couple of times to pick up lunch. Their lunch special is boss! For $8 you get an entree and a side. I usually get the chicken pad Thai and the veggie dumplings. You get so much food for the price. I call in my order and it's ready for me when I walk in the door 15 minutes later. It's a great lunch to get you through the rest of your day.
