  1. Very good, authentic Italian restaurant.

Came here with a large group and really enjoyed dinner here. Really liked the atmosphere and the service.

Started off with some bruschetta. Now I'm not a big fan of bruschettas, but I couldn't stop eating the ones here, and they were flying off the table.

For entree I had the chicken parmiagane which was also very good. Nice, big portion too.

I definitely recommend La Grotta if you're going out to dinner as a group or on a date. I can't wait to go back!

  2. I came here for a christening in the waterfall room (Don't know if that's what it is called by the outside window had a waterfall). Even though we got there 45 min early (straight from the christening) the waiter had goblet sized glasses of wine in our hands before we could take off our coats!

In this room the lighting was green (For the upcoming St. Pats holiday? Thus the greenish tint to my photos). The room was a little dated, which was either an ut-oh sign or this place is so old school been around for years – luckily it was the later. You don't stay open for so many years without doing something right.

The hot/cold anitpasto started our dinner – everyone received an individual plate of a various hot apps – cooked shrimps, baked clams with a white wine/garlic sauce, eggplant rolatini where you want to lick the plate clean, but luckily there is plenty of bread. The cold antipast is a platter served family style with various cheese, mortadella, capicolla, etc.. EVERYONE was saying how amazing this all was and wondering how they could eat any more!

Next up is a pasta or salad course – I ordered the rigatoni filetto and my wife had the salad which we split so we had some of both. Both delicious.

So many choices for mains: salmon, chicken and veal (3 different ways), shrimp, eggplant, steak, fish of the day (sea bass). All came with potatoes and veges. I had the sea bass and enjoyed it very much.

Various cookies, tiramisu cake (not sure if it was provided here?) and coffees, espresso, etc.. round out the meal. You will be rolling out of here!

The service was incredible even with our rowdy group, Miguel did not miss a beat – filling drink orders, making sure glasses were always full, keeping track of all the orders with a smile on his face and a great personality.

I would use this place any time I have to do a catered dinner for a large group. Also looking forward to coming back here for dinner. Fantastic, old school Italian!

  3. My mom and her longterm BF have been coming here for forever it seems.  The service is always fast and friendly.  I love their artichokes and their veal parm.  I have been trying to avoid meat lately so I ordered the mushroom risotto which was good, a bit on the shroomy side, but tasty.  My mom had pork, bad jew she is.  She loved it. Their wines and coffee are good too.  I love the green lights – makes me feel like I'm in Ariel's Grotto.

  4. Third time I've been here and the food and service gets better and better. Had the home made sausage on a bed of arugula and tomatoes. To die for it was. Breads and brucetta were awesome. My biggest surprise was how good the house Chianti is. Can wait to stop by again.
