P & C Bagels

“if you don't live in queens, it's a bit of a hike to get to, but if you're in the area, definitely stop by.”

“(they also have a newer sister location on Eliot Avenue, but the Metropolitan location is the spot I'd visit more)

A bro of mine used to work at this spot, and introduced me to this bagel joint.”

“My son and I like the whole wheat minis with veggie cream cheese!!”

  1. My friend was driving me to JFK and I needed one more bagel before I departed from New York. Luckily, this place was open at 5am.

The friendly man and possibly his wife took our order. They were super sweet and personable. The guy cut into my everything bagel and hot steam came out- now that's what I call  fresh!  He applied a generous amount of cream cheese and carefully added the lox, lettuce, and tomato.

Most place usually slap things on top of a bagel, but this guy understands "the art and beauty" of a bagel with cream cheese and lox!

I only wish I had more room in my luggage so I can bring some back to Hawaii with me!!

  2. If there is a better bagel in NYC I have yet to find it. Every weekend I drive a mile from my home to get them.

The bagels here are made the way bagels should be. Boiled then baked resulting in a crusty outside and a soft chewy inside. I favor their "everything" bagel.

On the weekend they get very busy so be prepared to wait. They also have a very small crowded parking lot and finding parking can be an issue. But it's worth it, the bagels are that good.

My suggestion to the owners is that on the weekends dedicate one counter person to selling bagels only while the other staff makes the sandwiches. A bagels only line will speed things up, just my opinion, I could be wrong.

But these are the BEST bagels in the area, give them a try.

  3. Great bagels in a somewhat suprising location.  Like others have said before me, I usually have to give them my order 2-3x to make sure that it's correct so make sure you repeat yourself.  What I really love about this place is that they have mini bagels so you feel like you are eating a treat yet still watching your waistline.

  4. Best bagel shop in the world!

I used to go to their other location (on Eliot Avenue), but since they closed, have been visiting this one on Metropolitan Ave. It's the same friendly staff at this location. I've tried most of their bagels, and they all taste delicious!

  5. Definitely the preferred bagel spot in the surrounding neighborhoods. (Kew Gardens, Forest Hills, Rego Park, Middle Village).
Easy access parking lot that can be at times a cluster–you know what. Street parking is always available, so I recommend that parking approach.

The bagel itself is perhaps a little larger in size than many other local bagel locations, which is not necessarily a good thing as they tend to be more doughy. Limiting me to only one bagel is also a minus.

Excellent crispness, all varieties have a heaping portion of the flavoring fixed to the outer layer of the bagel. The eggs, bacon and sausage that is only served during breakfast hours are wonderful. Creamy eggs and quality bacon will take your bagel of choice in a new direction to a flavorful and completely satisfying breakfast sandwich satisfaction.

The lunch salads (egg, tuna, chicken) are equally comparable to the breakfast offerings in terms of quality and quantity. If you happen to miss the breakfast, try an egg salad bagel, lightly toasted (on an everything bagel) I try to get to P&C at least once a week for their bagels. My only carbohydrate vice I can not and will not deprive myself of.

Coffee and tea is served up scolding hot without the sleeves, so be careful and grip your beverage with a few napkins.

  6. I've been coming here before every football sunday to bring bagels and spreads to my friends house. The bagels are tremendous and full of pure New York bagel flavor but the scrambled eggs they they make are the best eggs I have ever tasted. I dont know what they do to them but my god they are something to rave about. Get a tin of those large or small and make sure you get some hash browns, sausage or bacon to compliment the eggs.  Place is always packed but the workers are pros. They still manage to get you in and out in no time.

    Best bagel place around!!
