I went for the first time today, and I will definitely be going back! My first impression was a bit daunting, since it was a little later in the evening (I think around 7:30?) and I had to ring to be let in. Past the iron gate though, and it was an absolutely gorgeous store – I saw stairs leading down to the basement, but I was there for whiskey so I didn't go down. Another time, maybe?
The operator was very nice and very friendly, he even let me sample a brand I'd never heard of – it was so good, I wound up buying a bottle! And it was quite reasonably priced as well. Speaking of price, they have a wide range for every customer, but they're all priced competitively.
Will definitely be returning! A side note: Bring a phone with a QR code scanner, there appears to be a membership app promising savings!
The Wine Cave almost makes me want to be an alcoholic. Yes. I said it.
I would make it my home if it were even remotely possible. I mean, two floors of incredible, heart warming, out of this world Alcoholic beverages. Wines. So many wines. Everywhere.
The peak of it all isn't the wine though, it's the customer service that makes that purchase Madison Avenue worth. Seriously.
The employees are all very well versed in the stock they carry. If you hadn't a clue about what you're looking for, they will make sure you walk out of there with a smile from ear to ear.
The decor is sharp, modern and very 21st century. It is really such a pleasure spending money at The Wine Cave. I'm even smiling while writing this review, just thinking about the next time I'll be going back.
Followed by their sister store Liquors Galore in Flatbush, I am so glad I found a wine store I can call home.
Who can write a review of anything after Melanie B. gives it 5 stars?
She's right, you know. Read her review.
Plus the Wine Cave has a terrific selection of spirits. That's the attraction for me.
BONUS: Good value!
The wine cave is the most beautiful wine and liquor store I've ever seen! (and I've been already to quite a few places, including their sister branch liquor galore in Flatbush)right from the outside you can see the vibe, from the brick store front to the rustic metal grand entrance and inside the wooden shelves and counter made out of wine barrels, but don't think that it just starts and finishes with the ambiance, absolutely not. The wine and liquor selection is huge, including the basement where the have a temperature controlled room for those exotic old bottles, and a great selection of all types of wine, champagne, whiskey, vodka etc. and the service is also better then great, Moishy the owner who is a expert when it comes to wine, is always ready to help you find the perfect bottle that matches your taste and budget, and would even be glad to give you a taste of a great selection of bottles so you could see what you like.
In overall this place gets a 5 star for ambiance, 5 star for variety, and s shezzillion stars for great customer service!
Would definitely recommend.
