I was driving very early on a Sunday morning when I noticed this place and decided to stop since I was in a hurry and needed to eat something quick. The place was really clean and they had a good selection of bagels, spreads and breakfast sandwiches. The people behind the counter were really nice and fast. They also sell fresh juices.
This place should be called Wonderous bagels!
First – I prefer the Sip location rather than the columbus one. There is just so much more space and it looks a lot cleaner too. Even though this location is a bit out of the way, people still come from all over to eat these yummy delicious rounds of dough.
Second- I've tried all the spreads and my favorite is the walnut raisin, coming in close second is the lox on lox spread. My favorite bagels are the egg or spinach. they could use one or two more interesting varieties though. maybe holiday bagel flavors. But they are all well made and made fresh. Pipping hott out of the oven these bagels are like heaven rolled into the shape of a donut.
I've also had their freshly squeezed juice, and it's a great blend of carrot, ginger, and orange. really yum! I've also once tried their omelet….i say stick to the bagels!
Wonder Bagel is simply wonderful.
They hit it out of the park in their bagel & cream cheese department.
The Old American omelet is a home run.
Cannot wait until the new location off of Bergen Ave. opens as it is within walking distance from my digs.
Next I'm trying a bagel sandwich for lunch one of these days.
Really bad first impression. Really need to redesign the whole line up and pay system. I waited for like 15 minutes on both ends of the line in the wrong order.
Facepalm.
I wasn't the only one confused.
The elderly cut me. The elderly!
But yeah…its bigger than the other location and brighter. Positive for some, maybe a negative for others.
Easier to park at. Positive for sure.
The whole waiting thing really bothered me though unfortunately. I finally got to order, and then I paid. I waited like 10 more minutes and then my wrap came out.
The guy apologized and said they were backed up.
His apology made me feel MUCH better. But then he negated it by asking me…
"…Did I charge you yet?"
Facepalm.
If Employee A, B or C takes your order, that specific employee rings you up immediately and then that same employee hands you your order when it's complete.
So yes I paid.
Make the order/pay system like Starbucks…order and pay at one end, and then you get your order.
That's a 4 star spot.
The chicken Caesar wrap I got was good. So the wait was worth it…but not enough for me to forget the Purgatory I had to go through to get it.
Why did it take me this long to come here?
Everything here is so cheap, from the excellent bagels to the delicious, fresh squeezed juices. Those bagels are seriously good and huge..my plain egg on a bagel sandwich was monstrous. Good sized amount of seating if you want to stay and eat. I can't wait to return and try more things on their menu!
I love this place. Every so often I get a craving for bacon egg and cheese and this is the best bagel spot in my area. The bagels are fresh and delicious and they are consistent in the way they prepare and make their food. I do plan to try other things on the menu – they have a LOT of variety there. But I've been so obsessed with the bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel combo that I haven't been able to focus on anything else. The staff is friendly and quick as well.
I will one da update this post once I've tried more food there 🙂 I can't wait to check out the one opening in mcginley sq!
I am torn.
I give this location (not the business) one star. I LOVE Wonder Bagels but not this location. ****See my review for the other location****
The staff here are incompetent. I have had MANY great experiences and meals at the other location but this one lacks service and/or intelligence and/or speed. Obviously the food is the same but the staff is WACK.
I have been to this location several times and the common denominator for me has been crappy service coupled with slow service coupled with staff that cannot take an order properly. did I mention they are amazingly disorganized? Because you should expect that too.
Long story short: If you crave Wonder Bagels and you want to have a Wonderful experience go to their location off Jersey Ave. It isn't far (in terms of distance) but it is worlds away on service.
I've been visiting this area for work for 4 weeks now, and I'm a little disappointed I didn't make it over to Wonder Bagels sooner. I'm not a huge bagel person (I prefer biscuits), but I got a bacon egg and cheese bagel and it was very good – cheap, excellent, and fresh. They also have a variety of Naked juices, which are perfect if you're on the go and want something relatively fresh and healthy. I saw a number of fresh juice options as well that many people opted for, so I assume those are good as well.
There's also a lot of indoor seating if you want to eat there (unfortunately I didn't have time to), and the staff were very friendly!
