they changed owners and chefs recently b/c it is NOT the same consistency or flavor. they used to have a great lunch special and awesome flavorful dishes. not so! pad thai was a big blob of noodles stuck together. water tasted like pepper – obviously kept in same fridge and lunch specials taste more like a bad chinese takeout imitation of thai food. skip it sadly 🙁
In a past life of adult times, I came here to celebrate my former love's birthday. Many of their entrees as the renowned Pad Thai, Papaya salad, Lemongrass, and beef Pad Gra Prow are visibly prepared Chinese style. Thai Austin Cafe's conjures a Chinese Thai version indeed.
Overall a decent Thai restaurant in Forest Hills, Queens.
