  1. Came here with a group of co-workers for a lunch gathering after good reviews from some of them. The food was decent overall, though it I were going back again I wouldn't get the tom yum soup. It was alright, but it's also pretty simple to make considering it's tom yum spices and some meat and vegetables, just nothing out of the ordinary.

We had a couple other appetizers to share. The pork dumplings were awesome! I would highly recommend that. They are crispy fried and filled with succulent juicy pork. I had the green curry, which is very spicy, but the good news is you can customize the level of spice. I probably went a little too ambitious there but it was alright. The rice neutralized some of the spiciness so I still enjoyed my curry. They have the red and yellow curries as well, my co-workers had that and I tried those as well but green is still on the top of my list.

One thing to note is that service is really slow during lunch period. I think it's a combination of reasons. 1) It's packed with people. They take a long while to sit people, take orders, serve the food and get the check. We waited a long time in between each one so it all adds up and we weren't too happy about it. 2) The kitchen staff is limited so wait times would be considerably longer during peak periods. Even though it was a socializing session and we were glad for the time to chat we did get a little frustrated towards the end. 3) Reservations are highly recommended especially for large groups of people. We made a mistake of not getting one in advance so they took a while to set up our table for 8.

Would I come back again? Probably when other friends initiated it or if someone wanted Thai food. For now I just hope that my co-workers who recommended this place had a better experience prior to our lunch together.

  2. I can't believe the negative reviews for this restaurant. In Fact this is one of the very few authentic Thai restaurants in that area. Also the fact thatcher have an extensive veggie menu only helps. Infant my exploration into other cuisines started with restaurants in this area. This one of my early Thai experience. The food is fresh and flavorful and most importantly there is a lot of variety. Their curries are fantastic and salads even better. I also was very satisfied every time I went there. Pad Thai is generally ok and fried rice is well prepared. This was My wife's and her friends favorite girls night out place.

They have private parking and the only problem is they did not deliver. Not atleast till a couple years ago. Other than that. Absolutely no complaints. The best Thai food around Woodbridge. For sure!

  3. Wow, and to think I used to come here for lunch all the time about seven years ago!  Back then Mie Thai had good Zagat ratings. I knew the dinner menu had the same stuff but was more pricey for the small portions you get. It was still delicious that I would go, but boy was I dissapointed at the quality of the food this weekend when I came for dinner.

My wife and I ordered the curry puff, beef satay skewers and, Pad See Ew and Pad Thai.  My Pad Thai was not consistently cooked throughout, where the food was cold in certain areas. The flavor was more bland than I remember. The Pad see Ew was flavorless.  The beef skewers were beef jerky. The curry puff were ok.  My friend liked their duck dinner but it was nothing to write home about.  The singapore mei thai noodle dish was good.

Overall, the drop in quality, price, and small portions will keep me from coming back again.

  4. I don't understand the bad reviews lately.

I've come here for lunch with co-workers once in awhile. This place and JJ Biting are the only places I can recommend to eat when someone says Woodbridge, NJ.

This is an authentic place so the medium spicy level makes me cry and I have to blow my nose and spread the love to everyone.

If I worked closer I'd come here for lunch more often.

  5. Food is fantastic. Service is reliable. They could do some work to liven the place up a bit..

  6. My personal favorite Thai restaurant. For all of the years I've been coming here, this place has been consistently awesome. Always reliable for an excellent and filling meal

Typically my "go to" here for years has been the Moo Tod Rad Prig" a crispy pork dish covered with spicy chili and garlic sauce. The pork is as crispy as advertised and the blend of sauces is perfect. Depending on your level of spice, it can go from extremely spicy to very mild. I find mild to be just perfect. A good amount of heat but not so much that it takes the flavor away. If it's too much, just down a Thai iced tea to ease the suffering

This place is BYOB so bring some stuff from home or stop off at JJ Bittings across the street and grab a Growler before your meal. It's packed on weekends so making a reservation isn't a bad idea

  7. I absolutely adore this place. The service is normally good, however it is family oriented so it's generally only 2-3 servers when its super busy so you may have a little wait. But the service is none the less friendly, accommodating, and awesome.
The food is delicious—I always get the duck and pineapple with pad thai, as well as the Thai tea and fried banana dessert.
Only complaint I would have is that they never announce the time the kitchen closes, which almost always results in me never being able to order said dessert. Which saddens me because generally this is the main reason I come here.

  8. Groupon.

I love Thai food. I know what my favorite dish's are called in Thai so I don't have to look for the American terms…Drunken Noodles etc…

The decor is way dated, but I'm not one to deduct stars for ambiance.

Wife instantly asks for Spring Rolls and a Diet Coke. "We're out of spring rolls" Oh No! How can you be out of spring rolls seriously. The waitress recommended the vegetarian curry puffs. Curry puffs were enjoyed and a little change of pace so minus no stars for being out of what is probably the most profitable and commonly ordered appetizer. I'm sick of spring rolls anyway.

Next up … The usual. PKM  as I call them or "Drunken Noodles" to most people.
Now this wasn't my normal order though. The menu kind of states that PKM comes with chicken and shrimp. I'm a pork all day guy or beef as a back up. I never really order chicken and lord knows nobody has ever given enough shrimp to make me happy. Something about the way it was put on the menu made me feel like they wouldn't appreciate me changing it so When in Rome…

Let me discuss the price real quick. It's on the "high" side technically I guess for what it is. I expect $10 to be the average cost of a plate of noodles often $11 sometimes $12 and usually the price goes up depending on affluent influence. These were $13 Drunken Noodles. Last time I was in AC noodles in the Golden Nugget ran $15….were talking $13 in Woodbridge. Here's where I stop picking pennies because the point of all this is that IT WAS WORTH IT. I often say to myself I wish I could pay a little extra for a bit more. This was that bit more.
Plenty of Chicken and a god amount of Shrimp! Awesome.

Wife got Veggie Drunken Noodles and liked it.

There is a young guy that works there. I don't know how to put it…he's Asian….but he definitely grew up in America. You can ask him any questions if you're unfamiliar with Thai food. Since It was my first time I asked him how authentic the heat was. Mild Med Hot were the options he said Med will have you in tears and hot is for like when your sick and need to be opened up.

Awkward Moment- My waitress was an older Thai (Assuming) woman. When wife ordered her noodles she said:
    "Spicy or not?"
    Wife said "A Little"
    She Said "Mild"
Then I order and she says:
    "Spicy or not?"
    I say "Yes!"
    She says "Ok Mild" …..
I said "Noooo how about Medium?"
I think in the end she played me for a white boy and gave my wife and I the same minimal heat. I asked for a side of Hot anything and she brought me the chilli oil and peppers etc.

Finally, get the Moo Tod Rad Prig – Crispy Pork. Just get it. Seriously. You need it.
