  1. Absolutely delicious : cheese Danish –THE REAL CHEESE DANISH, NOT MADE WITH CREAM CHEESE!!  If you think a cheese Danish means there is cream cheese inside, you have been mislead. As a NATIVE NEW YORKER, having grown up with real bakeries & real cheese Danishes in my neighborhood, I can tell you–YOU WILL FIND REAL CHEESE DANISHES & REAL PRUNE DANISHES AT ANDRE'S!  Worth a visit!!!

I also love their streudel a–wonderful assortment from sweet to savory. I love the cherry-cheese streudel, & the apple, cherry, and more.

I love that I can buy a round slice of apricot mocha cake, it has a chocolate frosting on top; its $6, & wonderful. Also available in a whole cake. Lovely cakes & pastries that remind me of the wonderful bakeries in my NYC neighborhood, growing up.

AND, last, but not least–the REAL DEAL, RUGELAH, as it should be made.  Raisins & nuts with a hint of…I think perhaps apricot? I'm not sure, but GREAT! Also available in chocolate RUGELAH .

On the CORNER, at First Ave & EAST 57th Street. NORTHWEST CORNER.

Open EARLY, & I WISH THEY'D stay open later!! Seems they are closed by the time I get out of work, which is probably later than when you may get out of work. If you get there by 6pm you should be ok, except that some goodies may be sold out. Moral of the story, –go early, if you can.
    SEE MY PHOTOS.
May 2016–I paid $3.50 for a prune Danish, and same for a cheese Danish. I paid about $4.50 for about 4 to 5 pieces of RUGELAH–sold by weight. WORTH EVERY PENNY.

  2. This place is so cute. There is one person working behind the counter. In front of her are displays of very authentic and delicious looking pastries. It's actually overwhelming with the cakes, croissants, strudels and other things with names I didn't know.

I got the apple strudel which was huge. The other pastries all look great. Since this place is really for take out, you should heat the pastries when you get home before you eat it. I didn't do it so my pastries probably weren't as good as they should have been.

Prices are kind of high but you're getting a specialty make of dessert.
