  1. They have Ackee patties. They. Have. Ackee.Patties.

I suggest this place if you want a quick meal on the run. It's great to go to in the morning because they're open pretty early and close late enough. They usually have most patties in stock.
The service isn't fast, it isn't slow, but who cares, you can get a pattie for less than $5 and be full (well, kind of)

  2. Jamaican Pride could be any other good bakery in Flatbush, with its colorful cakes with their neon frosting, the wide array of saran wrapped savories and of course,  patties.  When I am totally unabashed about wolfing down a patty only five feet away from the bakery I got it from and then running back in to get more, I know I have found one stupendous bakery for patties.  Their patties have a delicious and soft crust that flakes when you bite into it, to reveal fillings oh so wonderfully tasty, with just the proper amount of heat to give you a nice kick and so perfectly seasoned I had never eaten a more flavorful patty. I first bought the chicken patties for family, and an ackee one for myself. Gobbling down the ackee, I decided it was time to seize the day, ran back in, bought some beef patties for the sisters and a vegetable one for myself. My pickiest sis gave the seal of approval to the chicken. Better than C.J's, their normal go-to patty spot, she stated, giving the thumbs up for the spicy filling. And sis hadn't even had the Jamaican Pride customer fave, the beef patty yet. Better than Errol's, I sighed like a fickle lover, betraying my former patty place. Jamaican Pride patties are a nice size, varying in price from $1.65 for beef to $3.00 for the totally worth it ackee patty. I liked the vegetable patty also but it couldn't compete with the flavor of the ackee. Fillings are not skimpy so that you taste the perfect meld of crust and whatever stuffing you choose to have inside. Two can definitely make a meal . Service was efficient–if you don't know what you want, they will move on to the next person. They were friendly and in my case, quite amused. I had the same server who handed me napkins, "For the crumbs on your face," she said, barely containing her smile. Crumbs on my face, joy in my belly makes for one fabulous Jamaican bakery. And much thanks to Alicia G for her Yelp review about the ackee patty here that made me try Jamaican Pride in the first place.

  3. Nice cakes and breads. Staff could be friendlier. Small place, old time feeling.

  4. Very good and authentic Jamaican bakery.

They have the Jamaican patty's they are known for, cakes, cookies, and a bunch of other sweets.

I tried the beef patty and chicken patty. Both were great but I thought the chicken was better.

Will be back for the sweets.

  5. The best Jamaican beef patty I have ever had.  I love a food adventure and this is a must stop if you are exploring Brooklyn for the best of's!  This little bakery has awesome treats but the highlight was the $1.50 beef patty.
