Everyone has a favorite bagel place and this is mine! Warm, soft and chewy bagels. They have good coffee too. Sometimes they'll even pop a free muffin or cinnamon sugar bagel in your bag!
Good bagel spot but nothing spectacular. If you are hungry and looking for a decent bagel sandwich this will not disappoint. Looked like they had a good selection and a lot of options so i will stop by again if i am in the area.
Having had skipped breakfast most days out of the week, I found myself ordering from Hot Bagels a lot.
As far as taste, I've never had a problem. Their egg sandwiches taste great. The bacon always crisp and they also offer turkey bacon which, in my option, tastes even better. Their hash browns are hit or miss. There have been few times I received them a bit burnt and it ruins the taste for me. I have tried their build your own omelette once but couldn't bear myself to eat as it was undercooked, the eggs were too runny and slimy from the excess water from the tomatoes added on. Bagels are fresh and they have a few of different cream cheeses to chose from.
It's true their delivery, especially, in the morning is very slow. My office is only one block down and we would have a wait time of about an hour to an hour and half to receive our breakfast. Pick up, therefore, is way more efficient if you're close by and don't want to wait. Dine-in is also possible at this location as they have a few tables and chairs on the side.
My office would place orders for about 4-8 people. The order would be placed on the phone. There would be several times where 1) they would place us on hold for an extremely long time, and 2) mess or mix up our orders.
Besides a few blunders every now and then, Hot Bagels egg sandwiches and turkey bacon keep me coming back.
Hot Bagels Abroad is right by my office so I come here pretty often for breakfast and lunch. Their egg platters are delicious and plentiful. They come with home fries and toast. They also don't skimp out on cheese or sides of bacon and taylor ham, if you ask for that. Since I'm usually doing the low carb thing, I stay away from their bagels. However, I've had them a couple of times and enjoyed them; they're the soft and fluffy kind.
For lunch, I almost always get their chicken caesar salad. They use Ken's or Kraft dressing so nothing too special there but their grilled chicken is excellent. I'm actually impressed that a bagel/breakfast place makes such delicious grilled chicken. I asked them about it and they said they pound it out to tenderize it, marinate it for a couple hours or overnight, season it and then grill it. While it's not the best chicken I've ever had in my life, it's exceptionally delicious for a bagel place where you'd expect them to make plain, boring grilled chicken.
Their home made salads (i.e. tuna, pasta, chicken and seafood) are really great as well. Some of the lunch special items come with a small side of pasta salad. It's a very, very small side container. So small that I wonder why they even bother giving it out. It's like only one mouthful of pasta salad. It's good though and it comes with the special so whatever. I've also had their tuna and seafood salad both of which I enjoyed very much. I can't tell if the seafood salad uses real crab meat/lobster meat or imitation. It was good regardless though.
Minus one star because their delivery sucks. My office is only a mile away and they took an hour to deliver both times I called for it. So, I just do pick up now instead.
I used to come here all the time when i was younger. Everything bagel with veggie cream cheese yum. I'm not sure if they've changed or if my taste buds have changed but I recently went back, and definitely made me wonder why i used to go there?
As previous staffers said, the staff gives off a rude vibe. I don't care that much but its something I've noticed.
The bagel I got was stale. I got very upset. On top of that, the cream cheese was so sloppy, it looked like they didn't even bother to apply it properly. After that experience, I've been going elsewhere.
They have good iced coffee though!
This restaurant is a logistical nightmare! My friends and I were confused from start to finish.
1) If you don't know what you want when you're within 5 feet of the counter, the staff will roll their eyes at you.
2) If you tell a staff member your order and decide to add anything to it, there's no telling whether the same staff member will help again. Each item gets compiled on the counter as you go along.
3) There is no designated place to stand as you wait for your food. You pretty much have no choice but to awkwardly stand near the register, where people constantly ask if you want to order something else or if you're being helped.
One of my friends swears by the bagels, and hers may have been good (poppy seed with plain cream cheese), but my cinnamon raisin with low fat plain was pretty bland 🙁 My other friend had the American panini, which she said was good, but was the messiest thing she had ever eaten.
I just really hate feeling panicked when ordering a bagel…and if the panic can't be avoided, I'd hope that the bagel itself would be good enough to make me forget the craziness of acquiring it…but no. I would try this place again, but I would get something else – and I would hope to come at a time that isn't so busy.
I have yet to have a bad experience at this place. I've been going here for YEEEEEARS. The staff is always friendly and quick with your order. I always go with some kind of omelet. The platters have enough food to feed 2 people. I've also had a few cold subs which were made nicely and quickly. If I had to complain about anything it would probably be the seating. I've never really sat in to eat my food but when I wanted to there is never enough seats. No big deal though. Order ahead of time and take it to go.
