House of Thai

“Two of my favorite dishes were the spicy seafood (spicy but tasty, not just super hot) and the Drunken Noodles (I can't explain it, just order it).”

“We had the sampler and enjoyed spring rolls, dumplings, chicken wings & crab rangoons but my favorite was the drunkin noodles!!!”

“The waiter had also recommended the sticky rice so I ordered a side of it.”

  1. Beautiful decor, varied menu, really good food. And good service to match, although staff needs to place dishes, instead of handing them to patrons. Our summer rolls wete light and nicely seasoned, but I would have liked a choice of sauces. The Singapore noodles were delicious, albeit a bit overcooked. Overall a good experience for a relatively new restaurant.

  2. Came for lunch. Was ok.

  3. Surprisingly good Thai food in Kinnelon, NJ!  Not sure how I haven't previously been to this place but went this past Sunday and was impressed.

Great atmosphere, service and food !  Went for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised.  We tried two appetizers, both of which were really good.  For main dishes, we tried three different offerings and each was better than the next.

No liquor license so be sure to BYOB.  I didn't know and was disappointed I couldn't have a beer with my delicious, spicy dish.  They offer various levels of spicy-ness to satisfy all palates.

Service was friendly and efficient – thank you Taylor for a nice experience.  If you're in the area and interested in Thai food, give this place a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Some of the specials are priced on the higher side, so be aware … Great little spot .

  4. I have never tried Thai food before so I do not have anything to compare this to but that doesn't matter because this place set the bar high for the next place! A friend and I headed here tonight both not knowing what to expect. We were welcomed and seated right away. The waiter immediately came over and took our drink order and asked if we had any questions. We explained we were newbies so he went over each section of the menu explaining what we could expect and his recommendations.
We ordered the spring rolls as an appetizer which were perfectly fried with a plum dipping sauce. For dinner I chose the Singapore noodles with chicken and shrimp. I could not have made a better choice! They were seasoned with a light curry powder which paired very well with the fresh veggies and meat. There was just the right amount of veggie/meat/rice noodle ratio. I finished every last bite on my plate! The waiter had also recommended the sticky rice so I ordered a side of it. One bite and I was hooked. Where has this been all my life and why had no one ever told me about it? It's warm sticky white rice with coconut flavoring, amazing! My friend a little less daring than me tried the Pad Broccoli with shrimp with a brown sauce and also was very satisfied with her choice. She said the shrimp and broccoli was cooked perfectly. She as well could not stop raving about the sticky rice. For desert we split the fried bananas to satisfy our sweet tooth.
The owner came out and spoke to us for bit which was so nice and we told her how much we enjoyed her dishes. And she also offered some recommendations for the next time. I assured her there would be a next time! From the service to the food, this place gets 5 stars from me!!
