Leske’s Bakery
“Loved the classic old school doughnuts from here, and the black and white cookie.”
“A close second is the jelly donut, which overflows with real homemade jelly, rather than that processed red stuff.”
“The Danish's are overwhelmingly delicious and the Chocolate Kringle is absolutely divine.”

WOW My first time here!
This place is interesting…
A mixed of different culture..
Leske's bakery is introduced by food baby one day. I am very in a mood of looking /eating donuts.
So I took N train all the way from Manhattan..
Food: had boston cream donut, and their famous black and white cookie.
Donut is much better than Mike's donut which is 10 blocks away.
Black and white cookie is so-called good is mainly because their base is soft instead of hard compared to others.
However, I dislike black and white because… of its flavor.
Pure artificial sugar flavor which I hate the most.
a little bit disappointed.
But the girl served at the front is cute, warm and welcoming.

A simply yummy cheesecake! Get your cheesecake here.
The Mousse Chocolate cake is also very good. Not too sweet. Even if it is a "Mousse Chocolate Cake", the cake is vanilla but the mousse is chocolate. I originally thought it would be all chocolate. Regardless, it's still good.
You can get small cakes right away without pre-ordering. There are at least 7 different "to-go" cakes to choose from.
Haven't tried the doughnuts or other pastries yet. But they do look yummy.
They also have small cute cookies that you can gift – kind of like jean denet cookies across the street. Check in here for a "cookie deal"!
Anyway, they do Accept credit Cards. Not sure if there is a minimum.
You can also get coffee to go with that donut.
I've passed this place numerous times, and Sunday I finally went in to pick up some desert. I picked up the prepackaged tray of assorted butter cookies- not sure how much it weighed- but it was $25, ouch.
Anyway, the cookies were really good, myself and my guests pretty much inhaled them. The chocolate dipped, jelly filled ones were the best.
I will definitely be back.
I was a little nervous ordering a birthday cake from Leske's because of some of these recent reviews, but I went ahead with it because I've always enjoyed their black and white cookies and cannoli in the past. HIGHLY recommend ordering their version of a "Brooklyn White Out Cake" which might be called something else but describe it as yellow cake with chocolate pudding filling and yellow cake crumbs on the outside. They will write whatever you want on it at no extra charge, and the cake will be the belle of the ball at your party.
As a kid, I worked in this bakery. It was really well maintained and the quality was exceptional. After being closed for about a year or so it reopened under new management. At first this bakery really struggled to keep up the original quality.
The black and whites had a chemical taste to them, and the icing was different. The icing really makes the cookie!
I recently went back and had the black and whites, the staple of this bakery, and they had it very close to the original. I was really happy to see that. They still have some of the old staff working there and that's nice to see.
The donuts and breakfast pastries still need work but they are still tasty. I think they inflated the prices too much without justification.
If you go in, definitely try the black and whites, they are the most delicious thing ever.
I am pregnant and nothing is going to help me get through the next 8 months like the doughnuts from Leskes. The doughnuts are incredible and made from scratch. They make all the other doughnuts in the neighborhood look like old stale hockey pucks. They are also incredibly inexpensive. I cannot recommend them enough.
I've had Leske's pastries before once or twice but a recent experience I had was not so great.
I called to find out about having a cake made for my wedding rehearsal dinner and had the misfortune of speaking with one of their employees who was rather rude. I was a little surprised since I was here once or twice before and wasn't treated like this. This employee (I can't recall her name) would not give me any information at all over the phone and told me with an attitude I would have to come in. I understand that stopping in would be necessary but what I don't understand is why I couldn't be given any information at all over the phone. All she did was act like I was bothering her.
Needless to say, I went with another bakery. Wedding planning is stressful enough, no one needs the burden of dealing with rude, lazy staff. This employee should either learn how to speak to customers or do everyone a favor and quit the bakery business.
Sadly very disappointed in the place not once but two times already.
I first came here with a pregnancy craving of a black/white cookie. It happened to be tasty, not too moist, but good. I enjoyed it.
I've came here twice since and ordered the same cookie. Both times it was dry and tasteless. Very upsetting because I love these cookies. Maybe I should give them another shot because they're always pretty busy. Or maybe I'll try something else.
