Eh, way too overhyped for me.
We shared the "Got Seoul" (of course) which had the green tea and black sesame matcha. It was light and airy which I liked, but other than that, it was pretty underwhelming. Maybe I need to try out other flavors, because this just didn't hit the spot for me.
Honestly, I'd rather just trek out to Cafe Zaiya and get the green tea/black sesame soft serve.
Whether you call it shaved ice, chua bing, or patbingsoo this Asian summer delicacy is being reinvented in "snow" form. It's amazing to see them first in Chelsea and now poppin' in areas of Chinatown and queens.
Flavored snow is fluffier and lighter than your typical wet ice, it is also has that smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture which wins over the traditional ices. This over pouring cup of flavored snow is then topped with your choices of mochi, condensed milk, fresh fruits, etc. Feel free to create your own or order from their pre-set combinations.
Rec: Got Seoul and Made in Tw
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Be prepared to wait in line as they do tend to get pretty busy on weekends.
Cool little dessert joint with build your own bowls or order off their specialty menu and cute decors on the walls. There are plenty of seatings compared to other dessert places with like 1-2 seats.
Ordered the Made in Taiwan which came up to about $6 and change. I would come back and try something else.
WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE ABOUT SNOWDAYS? I will be a fan until I die. This location is super nice, trendy/modern decor, plenty of seating. Come with a large group of people & share!! Our group of 9 absolutely demolished yeti size of yeti food + strawberry and made in taiwan + brownies (really delicious combos, would recommend). Side note, the best part of introducing people to snowdays is seeing their reaction to the color changing spoons!
Took me awhile to try out Snowdays, but I'm glad I did. It's a unique dessert place that is pretty reasonable with the price for the abundant amount of dessert you get in a cup. They have a variety of flavors like green tea, black sesame, yeti tracks and more in addition to the numerous toppings and dressings on top of that. I've tried their Made in Taiwan which hit the spot for me. Definitely recommend. Second time I went I tried their Yeti Food, which was pretty good as well. Also I was able to switch some of the toppings in their pre-fixed combos so that was a definite plus. The workers were very accommodating. I came on a Friday night, so it was crowded and seating was a bit hard, but after waiting for about 10 minutes my friend and me were able to get a table.
Also their spoons change color when you use them, which is a definite plus in making this place stand out amongst the others. It's simple, but it works and makes your Snowdays experience that much better.
This snowdays location is so much better than the Manhattan one in my opinion. This place looks clean and way bigger and way more seats than the Manhattan one. Plus it also has a better interior and decorations (frames of yeti images) than the other location. When I went on a Friday at 1:30pm, it was empty which was great. My coworkers and I got to sit wherever we wanted to sit. There are high tables and chairs and benches with regular tables.
The guy who was working there was really friendly and extremely patient. My coworkers and I took a bit of time deciding what we wanted and what toppings to go on top of what base. But he was polite and waited patiently. When we finally ordered, he made mine first, Regular yetitracks with mochi, nilla wafers, and fruity pebbles topped with condensed milk. He gave me four nilla wafers, ONE more than the other location (three is not enough for me haha). When he handed me my order, I was busy trying to take photos and accidentally spilled half my fruity pebbles on the counter. He apologized for my accident/mistake and took it back and gave me more fruity pebbles (first time I've experienced this – usually people don't freaking care and would just roll their eyes for the mess made). Just for the service I would give a good rating, a good meal or any sort of food starts off with good service for me. If service is bad, it will affect everything.
And since I already love Taiwanese shaved ice, along with the great service, it earned a well-deserved five stars from me. My coworkers and I all got nice full cups of goodies that we almost couldn't finish. And the menu is so nicely presented on the wall when you're walking in towards the counter, perfect to read and decide while waiting on line. I also realized that there's black sesame flavor and coconut flavor, which I didn't know existed (my coworker told me Manhattan location has it too). The colors of the spoon and the changing color is so much nicer here. I love the yellow spoon and green transformation. I also saw other color spoons in other Yelp reviews.
Since it's so close to my work place, I would definitely visit this location to get my dessert/sugar fix (which is often – blame it on the sweet tooth and strong cravings).
This place was awesome!! From what I observed, it is a gigantic block of flavored "ice" that they shave into a dish and it comes out to be a lighter/fluffier ice cream. When it melts it is more watery than ice cream so eat fast! I had the traditional vanilla and coconut flavors. They were definitely delicious and the toppings were all very fresh. One of my favorite aspects of this establishment was when I asked for raspberries as a topping they came back to tell me they didn't feel comfortable serving them because they were not fresh anymore. I think this says a lot about them and the quality of their product that they serve. If you're down for some ice cream and want a twist on it, check this place out!
I had NEVER tried shaved ICE-CREAM. I tried shaved ice but never this. Snowdays is sooo good! My first time trying it was here. I got half sweet milk & half yetti. It was so good. It was mind tricking because it felt like shaved ice but tasted milky. The spoon turned blue as you ate which i thought was so cute. The cups are adorable & the store presentation is so comfy & modern.
If you don't know what to get there's always a menu board with all the different choices and combinations you can create. The service was very friendly & the cashier was very patient and kind.
I loved snowdays and will def come back to try some more combinations out
