Convenient location with lots of seating room. Also there is ever barely a line… and when there is, it moves fast.
I come to this location every week on Sundays before teaching a class at the gym, and I've had nothing but great service at this location… well except one time when this barista was super tired, but I've been there and I get it.
So, does anyone know what happened to the sweet homeless man who used to always be outside? It's kind of not the same without him. But there is a sweet older Asian man who comes in every week and cuts his pastries into bitesize pieces and eats them systematically while he scans the newspapers 😉 Oh, NYC
Although I prefer to patronize "independents", for reasons of practicality I've been meeting someone at this Starbucks location two evenings/week (occasionally it's just one evening/week) for the past 3 1/2 months. Not only is every single worker at this Starbucks very pleasant, but there's a full-time worker – Edwin – who is SUPER-friendly and he also has a wonderful sense of humor. He's gotten to know my friend & me and we've had some good conversations with him. There are a few others who often go to this Starbucks on weeknights and we occasionally chat with each other. In addition, it's a good size (not huge, because that's virtually impossible in Manhattan – but quite sufficient, and with a good layout). It's also rather quiet, which is great. This is definitely the best Starbucks I've ever patronized and I actually look forward to going there.
Update: We had to stop meeting there about a month after I wrote the review. I wish all Starbucks employees were as great as the ones at this location!
Yummy birthday frap 🙂 Woman behind the counter was nice and friendly. Guy who made my venti frap was nice and got my order perfect. No complaints here!
Love their large windows, their layout, and their different types of seating! Tall seats by the window for people-watching, individual small tables along the wall (with couch along same wall), large communal table with excellent lighting and seating for handicaps, and small tables tucked around the corner by the bathroom for privacy.
There were 2 baristas working that late afternoon when I walked in. The guy was nice but seemed new. The girl was friendly and competent in making drinks.
The staff in here are LOVELY. My whole milk vanilla chai was on point, and I kind of wanted to stay instead of heading out into the cold. The barista gave me tips on where I should go for the day, it being my first time in NY, and I took them, and had a great day. Perfect little go to spot before taking on your day.
This Starbucks location is beyond disgusting. I had to make the horrible choice of using their bathroom and I would have vomited if I didn't think I would get an STD from getting too close to the toilet. I won't go in to details.
After that initial experience, going to the counter and seeing the scraps of trash and sticky counters made it even worse.
Luckily, a manager was at the register and when I expressed my displeasure with the state of their bathroom, he looked at me, said nothing, and then shouted to an employee (who was socializing with a friend) to clean it. Her response was "I'm not cleaning no fucking bathroom". Lovely.
I try to avoid Starbucks in general, but I really needed a coffee. I will never return here, even though my absence will cause no great hardship for the company. If I persuade even one person from going here, I consider it a job well done.
Not a bad location, just fairly busy being in midtown.
Just wanted a quick hot chocolate and got it fairly fast. Nothing special, but nothing bad either.
