  1. These icces are what summer dreams are made of. They are so good. I usually get the misto shake which is an icee flavor and the custard mixed together. The staff is always very nice and friendly. You can sample any of the flavors before you purchase.

  2. I was really glad to find a Rita's in Coney Island when we went to catch a Cyclones game. However, it was disappointing to see that they did not serve that many water ice flavors. The service was great in terms of friendliness but I did not like the way they layered my gelati. I ordered lemon and mango with vanilla custard and it was just very poorly layered. There was a bunch of lemon on top, lots of mango in the middle and barely custard or ice on the bottom. My wife ordered a gelati with island fusion, Georgia peach with strawberry custard which is a first. I haven't seen strawberry custard at any other Rita's before. It tasted okay on it's own but when it blends together with the flavors of island fusion and peach, it started to taste a little medicinal.

Verdict – Mango and lemon ice was still banging nonetheless. I just wish they had more flavors in stock like key lime pie and other fruit flavors. The guy who served us was a real nice dude but seriously, work on your layering skills. Other places usually have 3-4 layers of ice. Ours was just pretty much 2 layers with very little custard in the middle and bottom.

  3. We had walked from Coney Island to Brighton Beach and back and our endurance was becoming as depleted as the water in our cells. Luckily, Rita's Italian Ice was there to revitalize us. One of my fave ices ever since I had them at the Italian Festival in Hoboken, the Italian ices from Rita's never fail to please. The watermelon frozen drink, sis, said rejuvenated her with a shot of sweet, flavorful iciness. I had originally asked for the award winning pistachio custard, was perturbed to see a bright green custard coming out of the machine and was kind of happy the machine was churning the custard properly. I wouldn't say my brownie chocolate cream ice, while a second choice, was settling at all. It had a nice chocolate flavor and was smooth and creamy at the same time. With a terrific location by Coney Island, an Italian ice from here can assure happy beach combing. If your ice ever makes it that far.

Rita's make many frozen desserts besides ices. They also have so many flavors you might want to select one for any indecisive friends or family. Help here is very friendly and seem genuinely eager to serve.

  4. Many people go to Coney Island for the rides, the environment/atmosphere, even Nathan's hot dogs. I come for Rita's. Living in Brooklyn I don't want to hike up to the UWS, so when I discovered they had another location in Coney Island I come every chance I get. You can't go wrong with the Swedish Fish Gelati! Perfect for a hot summer day.

  5. Rita's is awesome. While there are many Italian Ice places in Brooklyn Rita's brings something special. My favorite part of Rita's is not only the location but the fact that there custard is out of this world. The custard is amazing!!! My FAVORITE is the vanilla custard I love it. its soft and creamy and makes the little man living in my stomach happy!

The topping are vast and they even go as far as fruity pebbles. They are located in coney island so if your going on a fri-sun there is always something going on either in Luna park or on the boardwalk. In that case you can take your amazing soft fresh ice~cream and enjoy it on the boardwalk or listening to some live dj/band entertainment near luna park~

There is no inside seating as this is a takeout window. There is a park like bench on the side of one of the windows but who would sit on the corner of the street when you can enjoy some better views.

They have waffle and sugar cones! Get any custard and you wont go wrong.
If you have an ice cream craving this is your go to. Lines move quickly, staff is friendly.

    Credit card accepted. No minimum.

  6. I came back midday during the weekday to harass my nephew so I decided to put him to use. I pulled up in front of Ritas, NO LINE, so that was beautiful… Busting out my Yelp app so I could remember the fantastic drink I got the last time, Mango Vanilla Misto and in less than 5 minutes I had perfection in a cup. It tasted just as amazing as the first time that I don't even think if I went back I could try something new. I kid you not, I was ready to shut down and go on break the rest of the day after just one sip…

This visit only intensifies my love for Ritas!!! Will you marry me!?!?!?… And then make me another Misto???

  7. Rita's is one of my favorite ice cream places! It's amazing to have one in Coney Island. There are many places you can grab an ice or ice cream in Coney Island but I recommend on getting it here. I haven't really tried any of the ice flavors but I always heard really good things about it. I always end up getting a twist in a sugar cone with a topping. Recently I just tried it with fruity pebbles and it was really good. It gave it another kick because of the fruitiness but I liked it. The custard is so thick and creamy. One day I will eventually try an ice flavor. They also have interesting ice flavors like root beer, sour patch kids and etc. I will definitely be coming back here again.

Another plus is they accept card!!

  8. I didn't know Rita's Ice now has a location at Coney Island but I am glad they opened shop here. In this summer heat this is the perfect thing to get.

If you come here I recommend getting the Gelati! It is a layer of gelato topped with ice and another swirl of gelato. They have a huge selection of ice here and in my opinion the coconut cream is the best but if you hate coconut they also carry a variety of fruit flavors. The coconut flavor is intense and the ice is so fine that it becomes almost like a soft serve. The gelato is as rich as it can get and each flavor is true to its name. My go to flavor is always chocolate but the pistachio is just as good!

They also serve just ice or gelato on its own and they even do shakes. W.e you crave , come to Rita's for some great icy creations!
