Working in FiDi, prices for food normally go for 10+ but if you want cheap food, Jubilee the place to go. The foods (barely)varies each day. Love it when they have salmon, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, guacamole, salsa, rice and beans. HATEE when I have to wait a good 5 min + for someone to take my order for a slice of pizza. The awkness of standing there…
Anywho… Jubilee's one of the best place to get cheap food in FiDi. (Y) the minimum for credit card is no longer $5, it changed to $10

I would not use this place as a grocery store (despite lack of alternatives in the area) because it's too expensive. If I wanna spend that kind of money I'm going somewhere… clean. My other pet peeve is the line situation– Despite going multiple times per week I still don't know where to get in line. I'm awkward. In fairness, the delivery guys checking out massive orders for delivery that sometimes take over a register don't help– why can't that happen online?
Buuut they're open 24 hours, have a decent beer selection, and make a bangin' sandwich. Which explains why I frequent the place anyway.
So, for groceries I'd give the place a 1, but overall it has it's redeeming qualities– just have to know what you're in for.
I'm a regular for their produce as it is much more fresh than Zeytuna. The romaine and kale are super fresh. I enjoy their fresh boxes of spring mix and can make 3 of my own salads with this mix. I like their zucchini and cabbage as well as the onions.
Good quality eggs and good selections of milk alternatives like Lactaid, soy and almond milk. I do wish they had more unsweetened coconut milk here.
For sales, look at their biweekly flyer, there is usually good deals in there for a couple produce, cheese and other items. I've been able to get a whole fresh pineapple for $2.50, avocados can be 2 for $3, mushrooms for $1.99 and carrots are always around $1-$2. Kombacha is also $1 less than I have seen it elsewhere.
They also have a selection of Asian food products like wonton wrappers in the fridge section. They also some Paleo friendly dry items like coconut flour. They carrier Braggs brand and a good variety of olive and coconut oils.
I have not tried their deli or fresh meats. I'd like to here from others on this review. Let me know your feedback.
Finally they have food store hours and l tend to be open late which is a nice bonus!
Of course some things are over priced, I assume this is because we live on an island so things are imported. My real concern about the prices is when I get to the register and the cashier tries to over charge me for items. This happens to me at least 1 times for every 2 times I'm in the store. Probably at least 6 times in the last 3 months by different cashiers.
It's been revamped! Jubilee closed down for a major renovation and now it looks amazing!
The interior is no longer cramp and overflowing with random things. Walking space seems to be the best thing they could have done. They made their deli area bigger and with a cleaner look they can serve more people.
They also boast a small seating area inside and the grocery section is more organized and less clausterphobic feeling. The aisles are larger while still having the same amount of goods. The produce section is cleaned up and expanded as well. The butcher and seafood areas also – majorly cleaned up!
I'll be coming by much more often!
I guess I can understand why this place has mixed reviews. But for me, I love this place! This place has remodeled and it couldn't look better! It looks so clean and I feel that they used their space wisely.
My favorite point about this grocery store is that they sell asian products! They have a lot of asian sauces, i.e. sriracha, soy sauce, ponzu, gochujang, etc. They have a lot of more commonly used asian products which is a super plus for me. No more schlepping to chinatown or ktown for asian stuff I need. Especially since they sell kimchi here and that is a staple in my diet.
I will admit that the prices are a bit high but it's to be expected. I will gladly pay a little more money for the convenience of not having to travel out of fidi for these products! I will say, it's not the best grocery store but it fits my needs just perfectly which is why this place gets 5 stars in my book.
This place absolutely grosses me out. There is MOLD on the "fresh" food – check your tomatoes, strawberries and anything else sitting in the aisle that's not fully refrigerated. This wasn't a one time thing for me – I've been living here for 2 years and have seen it several times. I'll only get chips, packaged things and some beverages here.
Jubilee used to be my number one choice for breakfast and lunch when I worked in Lower Manhattan. It's a grocery store, but not your typical grocery store, as they have a hot and cold food bar, sandwiches, burritos, burgers, pizza, fresh cakes, pretty much the works… Not to be left out, but they usually have some great discounts in their circular.
Today,I returned after not being there in over two years and noticed a drastic transformation. They are now much larger and have more food options.

So groceries are a little pricey, but that's what happens when there's no TJ nearby. It has everything I need plus some, so no complaints on selection here.
What I love about Jubilee is the deli section. The sandwiches are big and well priced.
The place is super clean and the cashiers are super friendly.
