  1. Lemon Ice King is a jewel located in Queens. My grandfather took my father here and now my father took me here. It's that old school vintage Lemon ices. Freshly made and it has that home made taste to it. Cannot think of a negative thing to say about this place except for the fact that the lines in the summer time get pretty long but hey that's a sign that they're doing something right.

  2. Best ices in Queens for dang sure! The Lemon Ice King of Corona easily beats Ralph's and Louie G's. The ice here taste more on the natural side. It's not overloaded with sugar, syrup, and artificial flavoring like Marino's Italian ice and ices from those street vendors or pizzerias.

I ordered a pint of lemon, fruit cocktail, and pistachio. The lemon one, obviously was the best in my opinion. It was nice and zesty without that gooey syrupy runoff. It was perfect and I wouldn't be surprised if the lemon ice king of Corona knew how to make a solid lemonade. The fruit cocktail threw me off a little bit at first but after a few scoops, I began to enjoy it more. There were small little bits and chunks of actual fruit. I think they were mostly cherries, peach, maybe pear. It wasn't bad and it's a flavor I wouldn't mind ordering again. Last, we have the pistachio. This one wasn't as good as I thought it would be. First off, the color really turned me off. It was so leprechaun green. I thought they scooped the wrong flavor and mistaken it for maybe sour apple or some other green flavor. The flavor wasn't too bad, it just tasted a little medicinal too me.

Verdict – It's the best spot for Italian ice in Queens, however the parking situation in Corona is a nightmare!!! Neighborhood street parking and meter spots are so scarce. It's also tough to double park in this congested area. I would highly suggest coming here with someone else while one person can wait in the car and the other runs out for the order.

  3. Perfect treat for satisfying my hunger for a little while walking from Queens Center Mall to the Queens International Market. Got the rainbow ice. It was so good even after it melted in the heat and became purple 😀 for $2.50, a medium is just enough for one person.

  4. It's so damn Corona! The shop has been open for over 60 years and it's such a staple in the neighborhood, I think Lemon Ice King of Corona and Park Side are the two places that identify Corona. The shop is tiny, it's just a counter, and literally across the street from Park Side and the park with the Bocce Ball. When it comes to Italian Ice in New York, this is the place you visit. This place gets crazy packed in the Summer time and parking can be a pain but it's all worth it for NYC history.

    The food:

Rainbow Ice- To me this is quintessential flavor, when I think Italian Ice, this is what I think of. The one here is great, it really takes me back to when I was a kid growing up in Queens and it's worth getting based on pure nostalgia alone. Also, the prices are cheap, if I am not mistaken, a single scoop was like $1.50.

  5. All hail the king!

We were in Queens and my friend mentioned this place. Naturally, we then pestered him until he took us over. And it was worth every moment of the trip.

It's a stand with a board of flavours. Order your ice. Order your size. Eat it and be happy forever.

I got the cherry vanilla and it was damn perfect on a hot day. We went to the park across the street and watched old men play chess and be chased by bees as we ate our delicious treats.

The King of Carona for sure.

  6. Vast selection of flavored ices! Half of which I never knew existed. I came with my girlfriend cause we watch kings of queens and this was a place we've wanted to try since the episode Doug dropped his ice and we finally got the chance to try it. I ordered the lemon ice which was their most popular and it tasted really for a lack of better work lemony. My girlfriend for the mango ice which wasn't my favorite. Both the ices in my opinion were a little too sweet but the flavors were on point. Also they are open 365 a year so you can get ices anytime.

  7. Came here around 10pm on a fairly chilly day and there was no line all. Located on the corner, it's bright white lights really stood out to me on a dark night and I love the old fashioned vintage feel. There were many many many different floors and I chose mango, which was disappointing. It tasted too artificial to me and not as tart as I would like it to be. The consistency of the icy was perfect though. So I gave it another try and got the pistachio flavor. And it was even worst. I didn't even finish it. Given all the flavors, I would definitely love to try a different flavor and hopefully it'll be better.

  8. Cannot decide which is better between lemon and pineapple so I'm not gonna choose and will always walk off with both in my hands. I'm a fatty at heart and in person. Don't you judge me!
