I was driving home and saw Acorn Farms, a little roadside shop between White Plains and Harrison. They sell a bit of everything, flowers, jams, and baked goods. The baked goods is what got me actually. They have a big old handpainted sign that says home made pies. How can you pass up home made pies?
Let me tell you, the pies are freaking amazing. They have strawberry rhubarb, apple, peach, and a bunch more. We bought a mixed berry version which we planned to serve guests this weekend. Unfortunately, less than 18 hours later, before a single guest passed through our door, we had finished the whole damn thing.
It was brilliant. Rich, buttery pie crust, a bit flaky, but not too much, with luscious home made pie innards. Just $13 bucks, sooo worth it.
I recommend this place to everyone, it's an absolute local gem.
