wow, very nice staff working here.
Other than that the usual Starbucks fare.
Though I've only checked in here once, I must have come to this Starbucks hundreds of times. The location up the street from my apartment is super convenient. Not to mention it's right next to the subway entrance.
Generally the staff here are super friendly and engaging.
The most annoying part is there is never anywhere to sit. There are the same people that get here in the morning, buy one cup of coffee and sit for hours… And hours… And hours. I swear to God these people should pay rent. This is not your office, or your living room for that matter. It's time to go home.
Ok, done ranting.
They have free wifi, but it's not the strongest. You can also access their wifi on the benches outside, if you can find room for your butt.
Meh. I can never find a seat to just sit down and read, let alone find a place that has outlet access. That being said, the staff here tend to be pretty friendly, and it is in my hood. I wish it was just a little bigger, though….
Admittedly, in the past 1 & 1/2+ years that I've lived next door to this Starbucks, it really has stolen the majority of my heart.
I visit here perhaps two or three times a week, usually correlating with my work days in which I work at my NYP / CUMC office and need something warm to hold as I walk down Fort Washington Avenue.
My only gripe is the usual unavailability of seats. For a relatively small Starbucks, the amount of seating is certainly AMPLE. However, those seats are hot commodities, especially for those with their New York Times, Village Voice, iPad, and Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte in a Venti Cup in tow. On busy workday mornings, I may grab a seat for a few minutes just to gather myself up for the work day, but I peace out pretty quickly as a courtesy to those that may actually need / like a seat as well.
DAMN my niceness.
The drinks come quick, and the staff is absolutely lovely fantastic. Some of the best baristas in the city. (Not that I pick favorites…but…)
Actual "cafes" are hard to come across in the Heights and Inwood…and as much as I relish my precious Indian Road Cafe, I'm not always up for that jaunt to extreme "Upstate Manhattan". Though commercial, this Starbucks really has become that neighborhood cafe, bringing families, young professionals, and the neighborhood's lovely residents all together in the pursuit of caffeine.
Bravo!
Since there is no Starbucks further uptown than this one (nothing on Dyckman), I begrudgingly drove down Broadway to use one of the millions of free coupons I found in a sloppy franchise in Midtown for a free tall coffee. The line had about 5 people instead of 25 like most midtown locales, so I was happy about that. Tall coffee couldn't be too confusing and I got mine without a smile just the way I like it.
Took a quick run here Saturday morning. I love to people watch so this is the place. Due to the calm crowd there was not that much seating but there was some. I don't think i have ever witnessed it being so full that a patron wouldn't find a place to sit. Great for someone with kids. Love the cute free community bookshelf….although I'm not sure if it is affiliated with the business. Great community staple.
