We came here for a friend's birthday party and had a wonderful time!
Decor: Our friends rented out the back garage and back yard/patio for the party and both had such a cool vibe. The garage was a nice open space with some vintage items (for sale…) in it. But there was a bar and plenty of chairs for everyone. Plus, with the garage doors open, there is even more space out on the sidewalk. The back patio/yard is so neat with a wall of bamboo and plenty of shaded tables. While we didn't stay into the evening, I'm confident it be equally cool b/c they have strings of lights hanging above.
Bathroom: It was clean and inviting and had a cool vintage vibe.
Staff: We didn't have too much interaction with he staff, save for the "bartender." He was super friendly and very accommodating.
Food/Drink: The food was way more than expected. In addition to a ton of finger food appetizers, they fired up the grill to make hotdogs (reg and Jumbo) and sliders – all were perfectly cooked. They also had plenty of beer, wine, and homemade sangria (which had a "secret ingredient that made it better than any other sangria I've ever tasted).
Value: I can't comment on the cost b/c the party was fully paid for by our friends.
Although I'm not a big coffee drinker, I definitely want to come back. In fact, I want to have a party there! It's such an awesome little gem!
Cute place without a doubt. Love the rustic feel it has going on, all their décor is definitely my style. I enjoyed a ham (regular ham, they don't have taylor ham), egg and cheese on a croissant. The croissant was pressed and grilled, which gave a unique taste/texture, which I liked. Only problem is, its SOO small. I'm pretty sure they made my sandwich on half a croissant…there's no way it was made on a full one. Further more, it was really pricey too. I'm not cheap by any means and I am not shy about spending a pretty penny for some awesome food but quantity is just as important as quality. Unfortunately in this situation the lack of quantity masked the good quality. Give me more bang for my buck Hothouse!
Also – the time posted on Yelp for Sunday hours is wrong. I was in there around 9AM and according to Yelp it doesn't open until 11AM.
Came by for an afternoon latte and loved the ambiance. The barista was very nice and really enjoyed the latte. The shop is really cute and has a lot of personality!
Okay, I came back and my latte was made perfectly this time! Thank you guys!! My morning coffee is important to me 😉
My new favorite Hoboken coffee shop!! Next time I may even have a pastry, shame on you guys for making the pastries look so delicious!
Honestly, I wanted to like this place because it is so needed in this neck of the woods.
I've been twice now, once I went to grab a couple cannolis as I heard they were amazing. Well, they were not. They are already pre-filled which is a cannoli no-no. And I use the term filled lightly. They had a tiny squirt in each end and nothing in the middle. These cannolis were $4.50 a piece! Yikes! No thanks. I can go to Giorgio's or even Shoprite and get them cheaper and with filling throughout.
Second trip, we stopped in around 10am on a Sunday hoping maybe they'd have some sort of breakfast sandwich. Nope, just regular lunch paninis and a couple of not so appetizing looking quiches. We ordered a "large"coffee, iced coffee a blueberry muffin and a scone. The total was over $14. Way overpriced for what we got, the coffee was meh and so were the pastries. Honestly, this place is grossly over priced and doesn't offer much but an overpriced cup of coffee and free wi-fi. I won't come back.
I live next door so this place is really convenient. I always go to Aputia for coffee and treats so the Hot House is a nice little addition to the neighborhood. I stopped by today for a quick bite and ordered the Monroe. It totally hit the spot. Fresh arugula, mozzarella and prosciutto. So Good. Need to come back and try the rest of the menu. The other pies and sandwiches sound great.
Location: a neighborhood based coffee place. While I was walking , I need someplace to take a rest but the neighborhood here is so inmate that they do not have much coffee places. Thanks this store, I can take a short rest.
The decoration includes some old car plates and country side antiques, very reminded me of southern styles
Coffee ha d coffee but turned out thyme offer cream and milk at the time. Wow
They also have food to eat
And they have wifi.
Service: lady is nice but asked me when I already said i don't want any other dessert even though it was indeed a lunch time. I mean she is nice but …
Anyway
