Nice little place in the heart of Park Slope with, indeed, good wine and spirit selection. The staff was friendly (enough) and knowledgable; Adam and the cashier has an in-depth conversation about bourbons, though when I interjected, "Berkshire Mountains Distllery…hey! Great Barrington, Massachusetts! I grew up near there!", she gave me a wan smile, raised one eyebrow in a silent "…annnnyways…" fashion, and continued to talk to my boyfriend.
Fail.
Bring your kids while you buy their booze. Lots of crayons and coloring books for them to play with!
Shawn's Wine & Spirit has never disappointed when it comes to last minute need a half case of bubbly that isn't 100$ a bottle situation… I love the cava they suggested last week and even loved the brooklyn grown liquor that I could mix with it. I almost didn't want to review it in case everyone in my world started following me here and then I wouldn't have a secret wine shop where I get my goods from!
