This place was perfectly located when I needed a cheap bottle of wine close by to the place we were eating at last night which was BYOB.
It's a solid local wine store. Nice selection wines at all price points and an easy layout clearly labeled to find what you are looking for. One of the staff came by to ask us what were looking for and offered a few suggestions. We looked around in the California wines and found one of our favs, Red Truck. It's a terrific red wine that we discovered a few years back when visiting some wineries in Sonoma. With a blend of Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot it offers a smooth and tasty finish that goes with any meal, or just for chugging in front of the TV! Only $10.
This place is a solid no-frills wine and liquor shop with a convenient location along all the restaurants along 2nd Ave. Open late too. If you need a bottle in a pinch for a BYOB this place is a good choice.
I hosted a party a while back and called up the owner of this shop, told him exactly what was on our dinner menu and he did a magnificent job pairing up wine with each course for us. He was able to stick to the price range that we needed to stay around, and sent everything over immediately.
Strong Suggestions: SEPP white wine with the screw cap (you can have a glass and put it back in the fridge) or ask about one of his sparkling muscato dessert wines. So Good!!
