This is a nice addition to Chelsea Market! I stopped in and got a small coffee, a pineapple almond tart, and a small elephant ear. Everything was really delicious but nothing stood out as particularly special to me. I'm only familiar with Sarabeth's various jams and jellies so maybe I didn't order the right items.
They offer a variety of breads and pastries including cookies, scones, muffins, biscuits, macaroons, rugelach, and tarts. They also have a menu listing their selection of salads and sandwiches. Besides coffee, they also offer a number of teas. Despite this selection, they have very limited seating including one communal table and a handful of 2-tops.
From the outside, you can watch the bakers hard at work. After seeing this, my mother and I decided to go in and check out their pastries. It was all delicious, and I think I would go in again. However, I think I might try something else – like their blueberry tart or one of their cookies.
Not bad at all.
Super, hecka, hella sweet creme brûlée. Served chilled, moist texture– almost too moist & pudding like. Torched layer– super sweet, but good.
I prefer creme brûlée less pudding like and thicker when it comes to the custard. It was a little more liquidy than I prefer.
Also had a chocolate cake. It was ehhhh. Wouldn't recommend or get again. Kinna dry.
Elephant short bread cookie = very tasty. I'd go without the frosting.
Overall, not bad, but wouldn't really come back. Also, very touristy.
