  1. Overpriced but that's because in Korean culture, a coffee shop ain't just for a coffee filling. You pay for a seat to chat for hours on end. Even though I'm half Korean, and I'm familiar with the culture, I don't believe it's a part of me – so you won't find me chillin' at a PB (or tous le jours, cafe bene, chrome – all Korean bakeries). I want good real coffee on the go. I don't got time to sit around, unless they also sell liquor, which unfortunately, they do not.

This is the very reason the Starbucks @ Whiteman Sq in Fort Lee always gets so packed. There's no room for people who temporarily need free wifi – I mean, I personally never understood people who can study in cafes anyway. You're people watching AND studying calculus? TEACH ME YOUR WAYS.

PB has been around FOREVER. It's a straight up Korean bakery – the desserts are tailored to Koreans' tastebuds – the cakes are awesome. I always get birthday cakes from PB. The designs are contemporary and the layering is light and fluffy.

Again, drinks are overpriced and very MEH. Don't come here for your double mocha choca frappa whatever batsh*tcray thing you can order at a SBux. I paid $4 for iced green tea – you literally are just dunking a tea bag in water and adding some ice. I picked it up on my way to do some shopping at H Mart with my boo and was wondering why I was looking at "sale items" when I just paid $3 extra dollars for a 20 cent teabag. Sigh.

There aren't enough seats at this particular location, so if you're looking for somewhere to go to just "chat," I'd suggest Chrome (terrible pastries and drinks but if you're JUST meeting with people, that'll suit your fancy).

  2. This korean-chain bakery just opened about a month ago, next to the mega H-Mart in Ridgefield.  I'm glad no other yelp-nerd beat me to the review.  Another first to review.  Oh yeah.  Make'em say ugh, ugh … na nah na nah (smh in shame and embarrassment- smh for using smh- somebody stop me)

This place is new and clean.  The pastries are good.  And the coffee is strong.  So that's nice.  One issue though. I do not understand the korean fascination with adding corn to everything.  They add whole corn kernels to their pastries, soups, sandwiches, noodles, and even pizza.  Yes, corn on pizza.  Ew, gross.  Here, you'll find some corn pastries and croquettes.  Why, I may ask?  Why.

In addition to the corn issue, the sales clerk seemed really angry.  It was evident from her body language and tone of voice that she'd much rather be somewhere else than her post.  Your store has been open for only one month.  And you can't even pretend to like your job.  C'mon.  Compel a smile on your countenance if you must.  You are not going to last long in this business, nay this world, with that kind of attitude.

    Thus, minus one star.

  3. Nice surprise to find a Paris Baguette next to the H Mark While in K-Town NJ.  So I went in to compare notes to the Manhattan joints and found this about the same size with better tables and seats but less items like no little milk jar puddings at the time and a smaller selection of cakes.

But I did find two items that I never saw in Manhattan. The first was a Walnut Bread loaf, but the second was Shaved Ice.

They had a few flavors in two sizes, cups and bowls at $6.95 and $11.95. So I got the Strawberry Coconut cup, and it was really really good. It had fresh cut strawberries, shredded coconut, some drizzle of strawberry syrup and ice cream.  I really couldn't tell the ice cream flavor but it was not a vanilla but maybe a coconut. Even after it all melted I kept taking spoonfuls at every red light and did a circus seal act by having my head back and the cup on my nose trying to get the last drop.

Now I'm thinking if PB is this good what about the shops in Manhattan the specialize in shave ice?  Wowowowowo I'm coming.

  4. This place provides pretty good selection of bakery, coffee and other seasonal stuff like shaved ice.  I am just not sure if this place really stands out from other places on Broad Ave.  Nice place to sit down before or after grocery shopping at H mart.

  5. Cute Korean cafe chain next to H Mart. Their pastries and cakes are consistently yummy and really pretty too!

  6. I always like Paris Baguette… it's a little bit pricy, but I guess you get what you pay for… pastry is always fresh, but sometime they ran out quickly if you go during weekend or late afternoon… but I love their cold coffee (I usually order it with cream and sugar)… you don't need to add any more sugar or milk… taste perfect… don't a big fan of the hot coffee though… guess I am so used to SB… but in the summer.. do try their redbean greentea ice… the large one is HUGE and you can share with at least 3 people.  Especially in these kind of hot weather!!! Should try it…

  7. Consistent quality with the Paris Baguette brand. A little more spacious than the one in NYC K-Town. Parking is tough on the weekends though.
