  1. I loveeeee Great Wall supermarkets!!  This is the fourth GW I've been to so far.  They are expanding their business quite well and I wish for them to keep on expanding.  Way to go for selling fresh meat and produce!

    REASONS for my enthusiasm:
First, I can easily do all of my grocery shopping in one stop because they have relatively everything that I am looking for.

Second, the place is huge and spacious so it makes my shopping experience very comfortable.

And third, they open late everyday of the week (Mondays through Sundays).

Buying groceries is FUN.  I am such a happy camper! 😉

  2. It's an Asian Market…So, don't expect too much attention if you need help finding something.  Other than that, seafood and meats are affordable here.   They have an aisle of western foods and spices.  I wish they had more Philippine food items and brands.  (The markets on crazy 8th ave have more Philippine items).  Veggies are priced low here and TOFU is priced at $1.29 as compared to $3.99 at other American Stores.
I do warn that if you are not used to the smell of an Asian fish market, you probably would complain that it smells awful here.  But in actuality, it always smells like that at MOST if not ALL Asian Supermarkets.  LOL. I guess it's an aquired smell.  *wink*

The parking garage is underneath the store and it's small.  But usually, if someone is coming in, someone else is coming out…so it doesn't take long to get a parking spot. AND it's free to park.

  3. Of all the supermarkets around 8th avenue, I like this one the best.

Good affordable prices in this supermarket. Make sure you pick up a circular to find out the weekly deals.

Great Wall Supermarket also has a free parking lot, but it's small. You can also find plenty of parking around the area.

Most popular aisles are the seafood, fruit, vegetables, and meat sections.

I also like that they have a sampling area where try out some dumplings, fish balls, etc. Free samples. Why not try it.

Best times to go grocery shopping is during weekdays. Weekends that's another story.

  4. If you have a car, this is the best Asian supermarket in the area.
It's not close to the 8th Ave craziness.

I came here around 7pm on a weeknight. Grab a cart.
Not many people and to Asian standards, it was spacious.

Got everything you need from meat, vegetables, fruits, rice and noodles and left around $65 bill.

  5. There products are all supper fresh and well organized. Love getting my Asian grocery list down in this supermarket can't really disappoint 🙂

  6. I came here on one of new York city's coldest day and they didn't turn on the heat. Shopping while freezing my butt off was no fun. Not my favorite chinese supermarket.

  7. I live down the block and whenever I need a snack or missing an ingredient, I can quickly run down here and grab it. If you want fresh produce, you should go around 8:30 in the morning, just when they are starting to restock and cutting the fresh vegetables. The staff aren't to friendly, don't expect them to help you find anything.

Parking here is ridiculous, especially on Sundays! They have a parking lot where you enter on 67th street, not only is it small, but the entrance is also the exit of the lot! It's really hard to get in and it's a long wait if 10 other cars are trying to leave at the same time plus they gotta wait for the light to turn green in order to move with oncoming traffic. People also double park right next to one another, how do you expect others to get through? I also get alot of cars parked in my driveway(private community driveway on 9th avenue), whenever we come home our spot is taken, which is uncool. I should call a toll truck company and have them on standby hahaha.

Overall, big supermarket thats always stocked up with goods!

  8. I come with my boyfriend to Great Wall Supermarket once in a while for groceries.

The parking lot is rather small. The supermarket on the other hand is huge, maybe not as huge as Fei Long, but it's huge enough.

I love how everything is organized Great Wall and accessible. Prices are affordable. The shopping experience here is comfortable and customers here aren't as rude or pushy.

I highly recommend coming here for all your Asian grocery needs where you'll have a comfortable and nice shopping experience and shop for food that's inexpensive.
