Macaron Cafe

“It is a bit on the pricey side ($2.25 per macaron), but perhaps that why I feel pampered any time I treat myself here.”

“FALL in LOVE here

Gluten free delicacies, stop thinking just go there ASAP!”

“Had the creme brûlée flavor, so so good plus the ice coffee stronger than Starbucks and good.”

  1. Stopped by a few weeks ago while in the area and decided to try 3 macarons – pistachio, PB&J, and wedding almond. First two were subpar – they didn't have the soft texture I expect of macarons. They were a bit on the tough side, and too chewy. The wedding almond, however, was perfect. Unlike the first two, it was the perfect texture, nice and soft with the right amount of crispness from the shell. The almond flavor was nice and not overpowering or overly artificial. I'm not sure how wedding almond differs from normal almond, but it was a pretty pink color. 🙂 Love the wide variety of flavors they had but the inconsistency in texture was disappointing.

  2. Great place for coffee or a quick lunch pick-up if your office is close.  We stop in here occasionally for sandwiches or prepared salads for lunch and you're in & out in no time.  They also offer a variety of macarons that are pretty delicious.

The lines are confusing when it's around lunch time, but I prefer to go a little earlier around 11:45am and beat the crowd.  The people that work there are nice and helpful.  Would recommend if you are in the Midtown East area.

  3. Great lunch spot. They have salads and sandwiches for lunch. Check in daily for their fresh selections,  there's always a sandwich of the day. Moderate pricing given its selection. The macarons are excellent. Light and airy.

My personal favorite, chocolate and rose macarons. Seasonal favorites include caramel, dulce de Leche.

  4. It's a cute little shop but Macaron Cafe fails its namesake. With so many macaron shops all over New York City, there is just very little reason to get them here especially if they are better shops close by.

What is nice about Macaron Cafe is that they have many flavor options to choose from such as coconut and lavender and rose lychee. The macarons are a good size. I've had these twice already and I remember the first time I had them, I didn't quite like them but that was a a few years ago. Fast forward to my recent macaron day exploration and this was the first stop that my friend chose. We had two different flavors. I chose earl grey and my friend chose jasmine. First bite and it was way too much filling. The filling had a gelatinous texture to it as well. Plus the earl grey flavor was strange. I'm not sure what they use but I didn't like it. My friend's jasmine was so hard and chewy. At least mine wasn't chewy.

I would pass on the macarons here and wouldn't go back. Happy eating and remember: Don't deny, satisfy!

  5. I must've had crappy macarons my whole life because I never became a fan until today. I was very lucky to receive a custom assorted box of 6 as a present. Imagine different types of fillings- chocolate ganache, flavored buttercream, or fresh jam between 2 perfectly textured meringues- crispy on the outside while soft and chewy on the inside. Incredible little sandwiches! I'll definitely gift these for coworkers and loved ones for Christmas.

  6. All I could say is DELICIOUS. I've had macrons from a place near by and from Martha's bakery in Forest Hills but this place wins. 2.75 for ONE macron, so I got 6 for $15. It was worth it. Lol I have my friend Ryan one and not 2 mins he went back to buy more for himself haha. They have so many flavors and it's such a cute little store. There's some space in the front and seating in the back. I'll be back!

  7. Little macaron Snack at 3 pm is not a bad idea. I got a box of 8 for the office but of course I had 2. Couldn't resist. My favorite is the pistachio and the honey lavender but for peanut butter fans the peanut butter jelly is amazing!! Totally recommend these for those  who need a little sweet snack 🙂

  8. 2.5/5

I'm not really a fan of the macarons here. Although the texture is not bad(macaron shell is crisp on the exterior, and not soggy in the interior), but the Macarons taste too sweet, and some of the other flavors taste weird. I can't bring myself to like them. The only exceptions were the dark chocolate, matcha, and chocolate raspberry flavored ones. It's a cute spot, but that's just about it.
