  1. It was an okay diner experience. I felt like our waitress was trying to rush us, since they came in waaaay too early with the check… without us even asking for it. I hate that.

The food on the other hand was good, nothing special. Everything could've used a bit more salt, ya feel me? But I digress. If you want some regular home fries and eggs, get your craving filled here.

  2. They get 3.5 stars for fast friendly service and a feel of how diners were before I was born.  It's cozy and has the booths like how it was in the 60s.

They have a parking lot plus they have street parking so it's not too bad.

I wish I had our server's name….she was great.  She gave suggestions….told her I had a taste for meatloaf and she suggested the one with pepper jack cheese, fried onions on a hoagie with a side of fries and their yummy cole slaw.  It was very tasty.  I would put a dab of cole slaw on each bite and my belly was like whoa what's that.  I had a taste of their Mushroom soup and it was good.  The one thing I did not care for was the mozzarella sticks….seasoning wasn't there.

Also their south jersey fries….pulled pork with cole slaw and cheddar cheese was ok….I guess because the pulled pork was a bit sweet….it didn't wow me.

The food did come out so fast….messed up on 1 order then fixed it right away….refilled my husband's ginger ale without asking.

Lots of specials…..definitely would come back.  Literally my top 5 diners in jersey right now….YAY!

  3. Old school retro NJ diner with as many parking spaces as there is room for people to eat.  If the parking is full, expect a small wait.

Came here on a Saturday morning and it was pretty full.

Food: The food was OK, average diner quality, except for one thing.  There was hair in my potatoes.  When I showed the waitress/hostess, she litterally said "What do you want me to do, make you a new plate?"  She did take it back and just cut off that section of potatoes, but now I had less potatoes and very wary of the rest of my food.  Mistakes happen with food, but how you handle it matters.

Service: See above…it was fine, but the lack of care for our food sucks.  The other younger waitresses seemed to care more about their job and I think we might have been served by the hostess/owner who really didn't care to do waitressing for our table but had no choice.  I won't hold it against them, but willing to revise to give them a star if I decide to try it out again.

    Decor: Classic NJ Dinner

Price: Reasonable, under $10 for my usual scrambled eggs with american cheese and sausage patties (if they have it, if they don't then sausage links)

Special 5th Star: Nothing to note.

It's a retro NJ diner, almost looks like a truck stop diner but that's what they should look like.  Parking is a bit limited but so is spacing inside.  Not the worst I've had.

  4. Based on the recommendation of new yelp friends, I decided to try Colonial Diner with some buddies from work after our weekly meeting. I had always driven past it working my previous job and wondered if it was any good. It is!

I went with my breakfast go-to, Irish Benedict. Though only Eggs Benedict was listed on the menu (Canadian bacon), they allowed the substitution to corned beef hash. Seems like a reasonable thing to do, but you'd be surprised how many places refuse to make accomodations like this. Solid Irish Benedict, with hollandaise sauce that wasn't too thick or overpowering. The home fries were very crispy, which I really liked. First time I had them served this way in a diner. Fast, friendly, and attentive service is the icing on the cake.

  5. Came here for breakfast after a work meeting. This is one of the few diners I hadn't been to in Bergen County. It's a classic old school diner, no frills or recent renovations. Prices are low and service was quick. Our waitress was also very friendly.

I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. My eggs came out sunny side up, as ordered. They grilled the corned beef hash and home fries until crispy, which is a plus. They're also actually open 24 hours, like a diner should be.

  6. Don't be fooled, this place is the real deal! I had the eggplant sandwich ( not the panini, the other one) and it was delicious! Sliced eggplant cooked with mozzarella and toasted bun. The French fries were crisp and tasty. I wish I had time to try the ice cream because the desserts and ice cream were very tempting.

  7. As far as diner food goes, this place is good. I love Jersey diners, they have that something that other diners don't. We ordered the disco fries, a burger and a buffalo chicken wrap. The fries were great, the burger was good–just a little bit dry though. And the buffalo chicken wrap could have done with probably half the amount of sauce. But all in all, enjoyable, and was made even better by the friendly service.

  8. Very cute old school diner. Open 24 hours- love!

Food is very tasty. Not over priced.

    Service is nice and quick.

    Simple place with good vibes.

    Will visit again!
