Pretty damn good food, atmosphere and service.
I had the Chicken Napolitano, which is HUGE and very good. Good for two people to share.
My bf had the skirt steak, which was cooked just as he asked & had lots of flavor. Do NOT pass up the grilled shrimp! The lemon butter sauce is fingerlicking good.
The white sangria was good, not the best I've had though.
I will be gladly returning.
The bf and I stopped in here a few weeks ago for dinner on our way to Barcade down the street. First time for both of us at an Argentinian restaurant, and we both loved it. We split a pitcher of (super strong!) white wine sangria, and were already feeling pretty groovy by the time our appetizer came. For starters, we split the Provoleta, which was super tasty. I was torn. I really wanted to try their pumpkin ravioli, but my boyfriend and I are both huge carnivores, so he sold me on the Parrillada pretty easily. It's a meat plate for two with pretty much any meat you can think of, and it was heaven. I felt like Ron Swanson. Our server was really friendly, and invited us back that evening for live music and dancing. We didn't end up going back, but would definitely like to check it out sometime. I highly recommend this place!
Came here for brunch and was not impressed by the food, but was impressed by the price. It was the most affordable sit down brunch I've been to in the city.
I tried the french toast and omelet with goat cheese. The french toast was surprisingly good – way better than the omelet. It comes with fruit and honey (no maple syrup), so unless you like your french toast with honey, ask for it on the side and for maple syrup. The omelet left a lot to be desired. The egg was very spongy and the add-ons like goat cheese were not incorporated into the omelet at all. It seemed like it was all just thrown on top of the egg before sending the dish out. The home fries that come with the omelet were also pretty bland, and the "side of green" that they serve was literally 5 pieces of greens…
However, brunch does come with coffee and a sangria (too sweet for my taste, but some people enjoyed), and it was less than $20 per person. Again, it was a steal. However, I would probably only order the french toast again.
My one check-in belies the fact that I am technically a lunchtime regular for Cafe Argentino. Their meat lunch specials are quite pricey so I stick to their sandwiches. So, so good and served with an ample serving of french fries.
My favorite is their serrano ham with fresh mozzerella and pesto. I also very much enjoy their cheese empanada.
This is on my yelp app bookmarked for dinner.
Was taken here on a date for my last birthday. It's quiet, romantic and they have a great, personable staff.
Foods to recommend:
Beef empanadas
Skirt steak
Drinks to recommend:
White sangria
Definitely planning to go back again soon.
Wonderful brunch spot. Fantastic steak and eggs (juicy, well seasoned, perfectly cooked) skirt steak) with awesome home fries, coffee, and sangria (prefer the white over the red) all for $12!!
Can't beat it.
And great atmosphere/friendly service. Looking forward to returning, maybe even for dinner!
Our last stop for the evening was this spot off Lorimer station. We tried West Cafe earlier, but they were pretty much shut for the night already. Though it's not quite San Francisco, Brooklyn does wind down a bit earlier than manhattan. Not a bad thing, just sayin.
They had already done last call, but we managed to persuade a round of IPAs for us, and we grabbed a table on the street. What with 85 degree weather in mid-april, one has to celebrate the first perfect night. Good times!
