  1. Toni Parikas who handles our corporate catering is simply incredible to work with. Any time we have placed orders, whether they are last minute or well in advance, the service is impeccable and the food ALWAYS a hit.  In a fast paced environment such as ours we need caterers that provided even the basics such as table clothes for corporate lunches big or small, and they DELIVER JUST THAT. The delivery team is ALWAYS professional and on time. We never have to worry about our orders with CAFE METRO! THANK YOU FOR IMPECCABLE SERVICE!

  2. Unlimited toppings on a bed of chopped spinach = lunch and afternoon snack during the work week.  The line moves really fast (although the people behind the salad bar are kind of snippy if you don't know exactly what you want) and they're pretty generous with their toppings (if you smile and ask nicely, they're more than likely to give you an extra scoop of chicken breast).

I like ordering a large salad with chicken breasts, avocados, mushrooms (regular and portobello), kidney beans, chick peas, edamame, broccoli, roasted red peppers, regular bell peppers, black beans, and tomatoes.  They put everything into a large bowl, chop it up, and put an extra slice of avocado on the top.  It's a pretty awesome deal for lunch in midtown and they give you the meal for free if they forget to give you your receipt and say thank you! (it's never happened to me, but I'm sure it's happened when the lunch rush comes in)

  3. Decent pizza and the salads that other people were holding looked good too.

It's not the most original New York pizza you can find, but it's tasty in its own right. They've got some other stuff here too, but I wasn't super adventurous.

Place is packed for lunch, and the location isn't bad.

  4. I am writing my review for the amazing job that Liz Lehman at Cafe Metro Catering did for my mother's surprise birthday party. Amidst the frenzy of planning a party for 50 people on short notice, Liz helped to create calm and promised an awesome result that would fit within my budget. In addition, Liz was one of the nicest people to work with and I look forward to working together again in the future.

We started from the top, with a menu fitting an elegant reception and followed by working the template into something tailored to our more laid-back occasion. In addition, given her expertise, Liz took the logistical burden off of my shoulders. While I was provided flexibility in choosing among fantastic items on an extensive menu, Liz also provided party rentals (chairs, tables, linens, etc.) and staff to ensure a smooth and worry free party.

We chose two delicious entrees — Chicken Francese and Quinoa Encrusted Salmon — both generous portions. We also went with tasty and wonderful servings of Penne Ala Vodka, Caesar Salad and the Meze and Pan Asian Baskets (beautiful displays) in addition to plenty of deserts and more!

When I arrived at the location of the party about an hour in advance, everything was perfectly prepared and in place. The tables and linens, the wonderful food displays and the bar were each party ready, well before any of the guests arrived. The staff was more than accommodating and helped to make the guests feel at home. The feedback from our diverse group of friends and family was nothing but stellar and we couldn't be happier with the outcome ourselves. Thanks again to Liz and the team for helping us to throw a special surprise birthday party for such a special person to me.

  5. Great service and prices for breakfast.  Fast and friendly service.  Clean with lots of seating available.

  6. Great place to grab a quick lunch. I had two pizza slices and they were pretty good. Typical cafe. Recommended for a very casual and quick lunch.

  7. This Cafe Metro is right across the street from my office and it's convenient and offers a lot of options.  I recently tried the half sandwich and half soup.  Their soups are pretty good.  I got the lobster bisque (it's $1 extra) and the california turkey.  Both items were very tasty.  Unfortunately, it's not that much food for $9 and I was hungry about 2 hours afterwards.  Midtown prices.  The staff are efficient and friendly.

  8. I was impressed with how quickly they get everyone their food. People move through there quickly. Service was friendly.

I just grabbed an oatmeal, but the oatmeal was fine. They threw some fresh apple and banana on it. Fruit was crispy and color was pretty.

Great for decent food when in a rush.
