7 Old Fulton
“Better ambiance and food than any of the other neighborhood options (especially Grimaldi's)!”
“That is where stupid tourists who know nothing about Brooklyn go to eat.”
“There are "better" places down at the River Cafe, Julianas, etc. but that has nothing to do with 7 Old Fulton.”

Beautiful day outside, so we dined by the sidewalk. The service was excellent. We had the clams and mussels, crab cakes and spaghetti and meatballs.,,all were spot on. I see the poor ratings previously, but we had a wonderful dining experience with the food, service and atmosphere. Were we lucky? I don't think so…the food is too good. Management has responded to the critics…I would hazard a guess of yes.
It was crazy busy, since it was the 4th of July… But the service was great and the food was good. I would recommend the lamb shank and crab cakes.
Julian was always checking on us and the waitress was great… Very pretty too
7 Old Fulton is a total tourist fly trap, but I'm inclined to leave a kind review. Bear in mind that we were here under very specific circumstances: namely, taking refuge from a rainstorm after our walking tour of the Brooklyn Bridge wrapped up on a random Wednesday night. Most New Yorkers were happily ensconced at home, many watching the Mets get spanked by the Royals.
We were welcomed into this rather quirky, old-fashioned-looking restaurant with seasonal decorations by an ambiguously accented lady. Her husband sat in the back, engrossed in restaurant business, and a smattering of staff was in various staged of closing up. I was surprised they even received us at this dead hour. 7OF clearly does most of its business during sunny hours conducive to tourism.
We mostly wanted a drink, and the friendly proprietor poured us glasses of totally decent wine. We also ordered a couple plates of caprese to snack on, which also emerged pretty quickly from the kitchen. They switched from some broadcast channel movie of the week to the Mets game at our request and we enjoyed a nice hour or so with our drinks.
I'm sure a lot of the flack here reflects daytime disappointments, but as long as you set your expectations right, I can't see this joint ruining your day.
Food was sub par, really nothing special. The ambiance was great though and the wine selection was great. Server was really funny and accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu, as it should be!
The reason it is getting 3 stars is that the food happened to be pretty tasty.
The service was sub-bar–they seated us, and then my friend and I had to wait 20 minutes before someone came around to take our orders. By then, both of us had finished our small glasses of water and needed refills (which we didn't get for probably another 10 minutes or so). We also had probably 4 or 5 waiters attend to us? We couldn't figure out WHO our waiter was.
One guy took our order, another came around and asked us how our food was, another brought us a bread basket, another gave us the bill, yet another person gave us the paid bill back… it was really bizarre.
They didn't seem terribly attentive. The food was decent, but I probably wouldn't return as I've had better food with better service previously.
The food was decent. We had the linguini which was good, but the service was horrible. Besides the older gentlemen ( no offense ) with freckles, he was nice and was the only one who attended to us besides the busser. The hostess wasn't as pleasant or inviting. A baby spider was on my plate. My friend asked for a refill on her coke and a fork because her daughter dropped it but those both never happened, so she ended up grabbing a fork from another table. Not once were we asked if we were doing ok or if we needed anything else. You would think that a restaurant right at a prime location that probably caters to many tourist would step their game up but maybe they were having an off day so that was…..Um…. FAIL!!! Great outdoor seating on a nice day, but do not expect to get any good, great, or even mediocre service cause this isn't the place for it.
I went here for dinner after seeing the line a pizza place nearby. The staff was quite friendly and the food was good – it was nice and filling. The only reasons I didn't rate it higher was that the water wasn't cold enough and it seemed like the AC couldn't keep up with the restaurant, it was rather warm and stuffy inside the restaurant. I sat inside because it was rather warm out but I think I would've been more comfortable outside.
Why can't we give noooo stars?? I am a New Yorker. I am not a tourist but I have never walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Suffice it to say, we landed at 7 Fulton. Listen to me people. It is disgusting. Anyone of you could cook better in your own kitchen. Do not come here and waste your money. NOTHING is fresh and you will be in the bathroom the entire night just like my family was. They rush you to turn the table. The service is horrific and I watched as they were nasty to other tables. DO NOT EAT HERE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. DISGUSTING ON EVERY LEVEL….EVERY LEVEL.
