Large melon cake for $1. Usual Chinese bakery items with a few unique buns like: Ham & Cheese Fish fillet French toast
Although this spot is typical of the larger bakeries in the main part of ctown, they deserve an extra star for being clean. There were no crumbs in their cases and no trash in the public area. The kitchen appears to be mostly metal paneling and the baker was scrubbing the floor. They also pre wrap many of their products in plastic.
I'll come earlier to try their pork buns and I'll update my review.
Ps. English is rarely spoken here so have some idea of what you want to try beforehand.
Very tasty Asian baked goods 90 cents per bun!. There Are the typical favorites, roasted pork bun, dried pork sponge cake, cheese danishes, croissants, hot dog buns, etc. And 2 for the price of 1 after 6:30pm! I'm happy that this place is so nice and clean, let's see how long that lasts. So far they have an A grade rating which I find refreshing in Chinatown. I went in the afternoon so the buns were no longer warm which I prefer. My favorite bakery down the street closed down (new territory bakery) the street this is second best!
During the evening maybe other times too, there's always a grandpa outside the store telling passerbys to come in. I think it's charming. Do come in! 5 minutes before closing they start selling stuff half off. Pork buns, fish sandwich (if they don't sell out yet which they usually do by 8:30 am), egg tarts you name it. I like their iced milk tea now and hot when it's cold out. Locals in the area are regulars here. They understand a bit of English. I ask the ladies how to say food items in Cantonese and I always forget :3
I love this tiny little bakery. When I visited my grandmother in Chinatown, she and I will habitually visit this bakery for their egg custards and roast pork buns. There is a variety of bake goods, but what makes me still continue this tradition are the half price sale at and after 6:30. Beside being a small bakery it is very clean, which is a PLUS for Chinatown. It could also mean that no one comes here, BUT this little shop is very active.
