I know NYU is nearby, but still starbucks should clean at 22:30 after university is closed, so what happened? Restrooms already closed – who can I blame? Does anybody saw the 'employees must clean hands before returning from the bathroom' hate this shitty place. me and my frappuccino are outttt
Quite arguably the worst Starbucks store out there. Never did a drink order come through as what would have been received elsewhere. Ironic because this location gets such a high traffic volume that their service and quality lack. If you are an NYU student looking for Starbucks, I would recommend detouring to the Broadway location. Not only will you be satisfied, you'll also save yourself a long waiting time.
This Starbucks really sucks. Everything is dirty and employees are not too friendly. For expensive coffee and expensive everything i expect at least a clean place to drink my coffee. This makes me feel upset.
Worst. If I could give 0 starts I would. It's understandable that there is always a big line because it's right in from of NYU, but the staff is SO SLOW. Even if there are only a few people in front of you it will take 20 minutes.
I will usually put up with it because the location is so convenient, but No more. As a last draw they unapologetically were out of most types of sugar and all of the flavor shakers. Even a "yeah, sorry we don't have sugar for your $2.50 coffee" would have sufficed.
I end up going here a lot solely on its location being so close to work. It can get extremely busy when school is in session. I have definitely walked in on several occasions, took one look at the line and walked back out. They do have some nice big windows with seating to do some people watching.
Depending on how long the line gets, sometimes they'll send out a person to take the orders and have two people at the cash register. When they do this, it is amazing because your drink comes out before you can even pay. This happens only when it gets extremely busy as in the line is wrapped around the back and almost to the door where they have the free water. When it is semi busy, they just have an extremely long line for no apparent reason–is it that hard to take people's orders or is it the customers who are too slow and honestly need to take out their money/cards ahead of time? I have no clue. What might help them though is a Starbucks card scanner–they have a "scanner looking like thing" but it doesn't actually scan your Starbucks card on the app.
What sucks about this place is that it gets filled out NYU undergrads/grads and you can't find seating. What else sucks is that this Starbucks is technically owned by NYU and thus does not have to fulfill any of the Starbucks deals such as Happy Hour (I've gotten fooled beforehand, but no more, NYU Starbucks, NO MORE!).
Probably the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. I rarely go to Starbucks to begin with, but I find this one particularly heinous. The line at ANY time of the day is atrocious. You'll find yourself waiting on line for at least 20 minutes in addition to the 10 minute wait for your drink.
I'm definitely not ragging on the employees. They work really hard and efficiently, but Starbucks needs to reevaluate the work flow. They definitely miscalculated how many college students would turn to a Starbucks located at the center of campus for their caffeine fix.
I understand this is a busy location, but the baristas here are simply the worst…
Looks like the area manager holds a grudge against NYU students and simply brought the worst staff he could possibly find to this particular location. It's hard to count how many times things went wrong when I tried getting coffee here.
The most common thing is that the cashier simply forgets to pass your order down the line! It happens all the time, even when the place is almost empty! How is it even possible! You do the same motion all day-get an order, charge the card, write stuff on the cup, pass the cup, repeat- the muscle memory should kick in after doing it for at least a few hours! But somehow they manage to mess up such a complex consequence of motions.
Also, the other day I ordered iced Americano and the guy charged me twice. Then his supervisor tried to do a refund, he swiped my card and I left confident that the money went back to my account. Later I checked my Bank and instead of a refund I got charged one more time!!! I got charged 3 times for one drink! How hilarious! Of course, I was able to get all my money back, but come on now!
Conclusion: I won't stop coming here, I have no other choice. But every time I order here it is a gamble, son!

Hopefully it will close down like Campus Eatery.
