Came here real quick for a smoothie. It's small but right near the Forest Hills subway station. The guy who helped me was nice enough; someday I vow to try the yogurt.
Damn, when did Red Mango get so expensive!!? 59 cents per ounce AND their cups are deceptively large so I pumped out more froyo than I wanted. With an almost filled cup, that came out to be $11!
But their pumpkin flavor is lovely. Sweet, creamy, and spiced. One of my favorites!
A small Red Mango location in Forest Hills. It's a self serve shop that charges you by weight. The frozen yogurt is delicious. I usually get the original tart flavor with Mochi (Japanese rice cake) and diced strawberries.
This location isn't ideal for large groups. It barely has room for chairs. But it's okay, I like my frozen yogurt to go.
Taro flavor yogurt is the bomb! It's not too sweet and it pairs perfectly with some of the sugary sweet toppings. I added mochi, yogurt chips, chocolate chips, and bunch of crushed almonds. The almonds makes this taro yogurt ten times better! It gives it a perfect crunch. I'm pretty glad that there's a Red Mango in Forest Hills. It's been awhile since I've been in one and it's awesome now that everything is self serve. If you want a break from the sugary sour sweet yogurt flavored like mango and other fruit flavors, give taro a try.
Yum! Went here after craving fro-yo. Last time I tried fro-yo it was bad (lol I did not buy it from red mango, but somewhere else). I ordered the original flavor and topped it with mochi balls and these fruit ball things(I thought they were boba balls, but I guess they weren't haha) Anyway, glad it came up to only 5 bucks considering it was self serve! It was yummy! A PLUS is that the store was super clean! This is probably the cleanest self-serve place I seen in awhile! I plan to come here again!
DIY yogurt place that charges 59 cents an ounce. Great place for a snack or a quick breakfast. Fresh fruit toppings. Other toppings like chocolate and cookies are also available. You can ask the staff for a sample cup too.
Red Mango has to be my second favorite Fro-Yo place and this location makes a great addition to the neighborhood. It's close by the train and it's a block away from all the restaurants located on Austin Street. I personally like the fact that this location is self-served and you can mix and match flavors/toppings. I'm not a crazy fan of their flavored fro-yo, therefore I stick with the original flavor and top it off with some fresh fruits. Red Mango's fro-yo is creamier and sweeter compared to Pinkberry (their original is very tarty). But my all time favorite has to be Yogurtland in Bayside. They have more exotic flavors like guava grapefruit sorbet. But nonetheless, I'm more than happy with this Red Mango. I can grab a cup to go on my way home!
I've been spoiled by the Red Mango out on Long Island, where they make your yogurt for you, so when I walked into this location and saw that I had to make it myself I was like "Oh! Ok, this is an adventure!" It was fine making my parfait myself but I like it better when they make it because everything is better when someone else makes it! Being that is it self-serve, it is priced by weight. The parfait that I get on Long Island is a standard $6 and change, where as at this location (without banana), my parfait came out to $8 and change. So, I was a little disappointed. The location is extremely small but there were a couple of bar stool seats placed around the room and there was outside seating. The guys that work there seemed pleasant enough. As usual, the yogurt was amazing and Red Mango is one of my favorite spots for treats. I'd go back to this location if I had no other Red Mango option but if I can make it to the spot on Long Island, I'd definitely go there first!
