  1. Wasn't too impressed with the burger here – I got a standard one with lettuce, tomato onion and cheese (for fair comparison with other burgers) and it was a little too small, soggy and unsubstantial for the price ($11, with no fries or anything). I'd definitely rather get a Shake Shack burger.

BUT, the Tater Totchos with short ribs were outstanding – I'm not really a fan of either tater tots or nachos, but these were ridiculously good. The tots were super crispy, the toppings were fresh and the short ribs were on point. This is probably the best thing on the food menu. They should change their name to The Totchory.

The S'more's milkshake was also really good. I'm a sucker for any toasted marshmallow so this was irresistible – it comes topped with S'mores and teddy grahams à la Black Tap, but I thought the milkshake itself was much better than Black Tap's. I heard they use gelato from il laboratorio del gelato, and my all time favorite flavor there just happens to be toasted marshmallow so there's no way I wouldn't enjoy this. It's pricey at $14 but whatever, I'm numb to these things in this damn city, just take my money and give me a glass of toasted marshmallow ice cream to suck down.

  2. I was extremely excited to try this place since I found it on this site about a week ago. Went with my girlfriend the first chance we got.

To start, the restaurant itself is quite small. There is bunch of bar-style seating in the front of the restaurant, as well as at the bar (obviously), with the tables located in the back. The menu contains a lot of options, from salads and wings for starters, as well as their tater tachos and burgers to share and for main courses. For burgers they have a bunch of pre-selected options, as well as an a la carte option. They also have a chicken sandwich, meatball burger and I think a turkey or chicken burger (not positive about that one). We went with sharing the tachos and Cesar salad first, and each got a burger for the main course.

The tater tachos with short rib were good. In my opinion they could have used a lot more cheese, but still were phenomenal. Its only 4 or 5 bucks for the short rib, but it seems to make all the difference, as I found myself picking around for just bits of meat when I was eating them. The tots themselves were good, however they did become a little soggy as we went along eating them. As a whole, however this dish was really good and different and would absolutely recommend it to anyone stopping by.

The salad was also good. It's served in the whole-leaf variety which I very much like. Need a fork and knife to eat it. The portion of dressing was generous, as was the amount of Parmesan cheese shavings put on top. I was glad we ordered it because it felt a lot healthier than the tater tot nachos we got at the same time.

For the burgers, we both got the Great American Burger. Comes with LTO as well as a bacon jam and special sauce. The burger was good, however wasn't quite as spectacular as it looked. The burger patty itself was a little bland. I think it could be a result of the meat being leaner, however I can't exactly put my finger on it. The other ingredients on the burger did blend together really well and made for an overall good meal. Loved the bun. One thing to note, the burger isn't massive. If it's all you're getting you might still be hungry.

To top it off, we split a vanilla milkshake and it was phenomenal. Came with a nice presentation of sprinkles, whipped cream, etc. Other people in the restaurant seemed to have milkshakes with oreos, which wasn't on the menu but looked really good.

Also, didn't have one while I was there, but the drinks look really good. A little on the pricier, but not terrible.

Overall, had a good experience here, and will come back if I find myself in the area.

  3. We loved this awesome spot! The standout was definitely the tater tots with short rib – definitely the best ever! Their smores shake was sooo delicious too!

Caesar salad was tasty as was their burgers!

    We will definitely be back!

  4. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Only about 3 months old at this point but in a great location. I went in around 7 on a Thursday night and there were only like 3 people at the bar. Its a dark little spot in the LES (no AC :/)

We were seated at a table for 2 by a nice exposed brick wall across from the bar and I could see the kitchen. There were only 5 for mins of happy hour so when my friend ordered her beer, they gave her 2 so she didnt miss the deal- Bonus #1.

Bonus #2- THEY HAVE BUFFALO MOZZARELLA!!! I will search this city high and low for that stuff. I made my own burger with that, bacon, and truffle ailoi. The burger is perfectly sized, not too small but not disgustingly large. It was a little pink for me- the waitress didnt ask how we wanted it- but it didnt matter. IT WAS AAAAAAAMAZING. I never wanted it to end. The bun had a buttery taste without the buttery feel, the cheese was cold so it was PERFECT on this grossly hot day, the onion amount was very generous, tomatos were nice and red, and the lettuce was HUGE and not a crappy peice either

I got fries on the side for $4 and it comes in a cute little fry basket. I tried htem with the aioli first but they need ketchup. Werent my favorite alone or with that sauce but with ketchup they may be in my top fry category.

All around incredible. It was dark and music was a little too loud but you need this burger in your life. AND they have milkshakes that looked more creative than the famous ones I know you're feeling all over instagram

  5. I found The Burgary on Yelp, and was really excited after I read some reviews.  Unfortunately I don't think it lived up to the hype.

First, I was disappointed in the selection of milkshakes.  I was excited to try a Black Tap-esque milkshake, but they only offered traditional options and one daily special (which was coconut that day).  I don't like coconut, so I went with the vanilla shake.  I wasn't a fan of it.

I was frustrated when I saw someone else in the restaurant order an Oreo milkshake – that would have been my first choice if it was on the menu.  I'm not sure if this is something you have to specially request.

For food, I started with the tater tot nachos with short rib. They were very good – by far the best part of the meal.  I would definitely recommend them.

I had the Great American burger for my entree.  It was okay – not particularly memorable.

The atmosphere here was cool, but I'm not sure if I'll go out of my way to come back.

  6. Cute hole in the wall kind of place… crammed with decor and a chill, but at the same time sophisticated vibe. Kudos to the decorator!

Simple straight forward menu. I ordered the potato chip crusted chicken sandwich, and my fiancé ordered a burger with a special kind of oil. We also got tator tots on the side. Tator tots came to us in a little deep fryer basket. We were impressed by the portion side. While there was nothing wrong with them, they also did not taste like something we have not had before, just regular tator tots.
My chicken sandwich has a delicious cole slaw underneath the chicken, which was probably the best part of the sandwich. The chicken was sliced super thin. Unfortunately the chicken was rather tough and over cooked, it was hard to chew. Flavor was ok, but If they menu did not tell me it was potato chip crusted, I would never have known.

  7. The turnover of restaurants on this block is so fast! Noticed this place on my way home last week and decided to give it a try.

Sis and I had the tater totchos with short rib to start and I ordered the Great American burger.

The tater tatchos was surprisingly good. The tots were nice and crisp, except the ones drowned in tasty, tender short rib. For $5 more, it was a generous amount of meat. My only complaint is that there was not enough cheese.

The Great American burger was a thick patty with the standard additions of lettuce, tomato, onion plus bacon jam. Cooked to my preference of medium rare, it was a solid burger but not memorable. It's expensive for what it is and doesn't come with fries! I've had better and cheaper burgers, fries included!

Good spot to try once but don't think I'd be back. I do recommend the tater tatchos though.

  8. OH YES! 5 star to you my friend!

I went there while I was on holiday and with other 3 friends we decided to try what's on Yelp was called as "new". I love new places!
As a start I have to say that: I'm not a big fun of burgers etc…but this place was absolutely amazing.
We didn't have to wait for a table although the place itself is not big and if you don't want to sit at the bar you might wait a bit but, come on, once you taste the food you'll be an happy person.
We all decided to opt for a Great American Burger and was perfect: the meat was lovely and well cooked,
I also got a Bronx Pale Ale: great taste, strong beer which was perfect after my long day.
Another friend of mine tried the strawberry shake which was huge and delicious.

Staff is lovely, the inside has a great decor with wall paintings, nice toilets and the place itself is not too noisy if you are going not too late in the evening.
Price isok, not cheap but worth spending your money for great food.

    Good job guys, keep going!
