I never had Pakistani food before and I was very pleased with my first experience. The place is completely no frills. It's on a strip with a bunch of restaurants but the Paki restaurant is the one with the long awning that stretches toward the street. When you get inside, you see a glass windowed frig and you tell them what you want. The ladies working there are super friendly, especially to foreigners. For me, I like how the expectation after the order is put in, is that you eat in, I think it's more personable when they expect you to eat their food inside their restaurant.
The food:
Goat Korma- pieces of goat spiced mildly, cooked in creamy sauce. It was wonderful! The goat was so incredibility fork tender and the curry exploded with flavor. The nan is a must dip. This was the favorite dish amongst the four of us. This is a must order.
Bhagare Balgan- Asian eggplant cooked in herbs and spices. I love eggplant but I wasn't expecting to like this dish as much as I did. The eggplant was fantastic. The flavor of the eggplant was so very homey and rustic but had so much flavor. This is a must order as well.
Kofta- The meatballs were made in a curry sauce and they were good but not great. The texture of the meatball was a little different than what I was expecting.
Vegetable Samosa- The samosa was respectable, it had a nice outside crunch and the veg inside was pretty good. It was good but not exciting
