  1. Live music that is totally legit. Makes me feel like I'm in a jazz club in the 20s. Drinks were excellent, too. Plus, I've heard that there's a good happy hour that I'll need to try sometime.

  2. This is a very cool music restaurant and bar, that requires a reservation and limits the amount of people at the bar.

This is a small restaurant with great custom cocktails and a ton of whisky by the dram or bottle. They even let customers keep bottles in their bar, locked up, until you come back to listen to some live music and enjoy your bottle. Very cool!

The food is quite good…flat breads, cheese plates, and a variety of entrees. But the custom cocktails and whiskey list?  Wow oh wow, what a selection!

The service is very good and attentive. The live music is wonderful, I heard a jazz band when I was here.

Prices are reasonable and the value for the money is good!

Call ahead. Don't expect to be able to just wander in at your leisure!

  3. We decide to stop in right when they open because we were in the area. I didn't realize that this place was so nice on the inside. The interior is gorgeous!

We sat at the bar. I had The Mule made with Whiskey and The Rye Whiskey Old Fashioned. Both were very good.

I will definitely make reservations for after dinner drinks and live music in the future.

  4. I love this place! Like a true speakeasy, there is a live band playing jazz or countryish music. The music is just loud enough to enjoy while still being able to have a conversation without shouting.

Happy Hour Flatbreads are pretty good, not amazing but decent to snack on while enjoy some delicious cocktails. The cocktails are made with pretty much any spirit you like. From a spicy mezcal to a smooth whiskey, they make it taste good.

  5. What I had: 37 W 26th Cocktail & snack plate

Would I go back?: Yes ambiance, cocktails and food are on point – strange encounter with service that seemed to be an anomaly but shouldn't be overlooked

Story: when you are paying in the mid to high teens for a cocktail and come to a cocktail bar of this nature you definitely expect a certain level of etiquette and service. Our initial encounter with the wait staff was pleasant – male server took our drink order from the middle standing room counter we had parked ourselves at. he moved off the shift and informed us of the waitress we'd be having for the remainder of the night. While conversing and sipping our cocktails we were greeted by a staffer that offered us a mixed snack plate – we imagined it was complimentary due to its size and of course that we had not ordered anything in addition to our cocktails. In the midst of our snacking the waitress who was now waiting on us (who we met in this moment) came over and said to us this plate was not ours – as our hand was in mid grab she reached to take the plate from us – realizing what she was doing she stepped back – flustered & mumbled something to herself & walked away. The damage was already done though. Flabbergasted my friend and I looked at each other wondering what had just happened. We finished our cocktails and honestly the most incredible snack plate I've had and would come back for but that and the cocktails but this first experience with the staff was strange, rude inappropriate and peculiar.

    Now the good part
    Cocktails are on point
Snack plate included a variety of nuts toasted with some sort of maple syrup and rosemary – delicious! Jalapeño cheese cornbread was superb as well.

  6. A must go to destination for Whiskey lovers. This place has an old Speakeasy feel to it, from the decor to the hipster-y jazz bands they bring in from time to time. A good food menu, but the Stars of the show are the bottles and bottles of whiskey, from Scotch to Bourbon, to Rye, To Irish, and even Japanese and Indian varieties. You can go with flights, where they send someone to explain to you what you are drinking, to diving into the menu yourself. All whiskey is served neat, poured from the bottle in front of you, with water and ice given separately.

One word of caution, make sure you check the price on what you are ordering, some of the more rare selections can be quite expensive, $100+ per drink expensive.

  7. Love this place, def make a reservation and bring your date. It's so intimate and cute. Different seating sections and all well-decorated. Happy hour 5-7pm $10 drinks

I had two snacks instead of an entree- Scottish eggs weren't bad but not the best I've had; pork belly is a bit salty but not too bad.
My friend had the steak frites- it's not bad but they are all not filling enough- def not for guys.

I tried both of the gin cocktails they were refreshing, a bit sweet.

The jazz band was absolutely a delight! They play around 30min and take breaks but we loved it!!!

  8. Pretty empty on an early Friday evening.  I wanted to like this place since it's so close to where we live. But I can't give it the nod. I think they should warn you when you order a drink that's really sweet. That said I found most of the drinks there to be on the sweeter side. Forgivable I guess. Maybe that's what people want these days…

But my main complaint was that I was freezing most of the time I was there. I looked to my left and right and I could see I wasn't alone. People were literally huddled up trying to survive the the Flatiron Room Blizzard of 2016. After asking four times they eventually turned the air down. But I was done with it by then.

Clean bathrooms though… That's definitely a plus. We won't return though.
