TINA, TINA, TINA!!! Man this place is delicious !!!
Thus far my favorite place in NYU(been here 3 weeks).
It taste so much like what you will find in Northern Cuba(Florida).
I order the ropa vieja(duh). The meat was juicy enough, not too much, tender. It was a lot of food too with a great price. My sides were white rice and fried yuca. The yuca was good, nothing special but I did appreciate that they were on the less greasier side than ones ive had.
Definitely recommend and will be back next week probably !
Wow… what a find. I think "deeply satisfying" would be the perfect phrase to describe our experience here. You walk in to what basically looks like a fast-food Cuban restaurant with a Chipotlesque atmosphere… but actually in the back there's a small dining room with table service.
Now, we just got back from a Miami less than a couple of weeks ago. And there we had what we consider to be really good Cuban food… I think this was better. The pernil and fried roast pork chunks were wonderful. The pernil was probably the best I've had (and I just had my previous best two weeks prior). The beef soup was, again, deeply satisfying. Beans, rice, sweet plantains, beef empanadas, Cuban potato salad… all perfect.
And the best part is the green hot sauce conveniently available on every table. I'd put that sh*t on anything (so good)…
The only downside was the included gratuity which I absolutely hate (something they must have borrowed from Miami). Everything else was perfect.
My recommendation- don't miss it.
Kids were starving after a long NY sightseeing day. We had a very good Cuban meal! They loved the empanadas w guava and cream cheese. And they shared the pork chop dinner. Those chops were slightly dry but so well marinated it was ok anyway. I wish we had good Cuban in FC:(
I'd give 4 stars for customer service but 3 overall. Ordered the goat lunch special recently to give this place another shot and though the food had great flavor, the goat was too dry just like the oxtail. 🙁 The beef empanada however was good. I'll be trying a new Cuban place in the future.
Had the baked chicken with sweet plantains & fried yucca-delicious. Got 2 beef empanadas, a side order of sweet plantains and green salad. Everything was very tasty. The service was great.
One of the best Cuban places in the area! It's a small takeout kinda place, though they do have a bit of seating in the back. They have some of the best Cuban sandwiches you can eat anywhere in the city. The bread is nicely toasted and the fillings are generous. Try the Cubano or the pernil sandwich with plantains. And make sure to get their delicious green sauce and add a ton of it on the sandwich. It's definitely their 'secret sauce' and makes everything so much better!
Their empanadas are really good too, I like the chicken, beef and guava and cheese ones the best. They do have a variety of hot food too like stews and meat dishes, but I've never tried them. They all look delicious though!
Add tinas to your lunch options if they deliver to you or if you work in the area.
I had the fish sandwich from here and it was really good! It lasted me two lunches, too.
The fish was fresh, tasty and flaky. The bread was good. It had some onions and sauce, which wasn't overwhelming, but complimented the sandwich really well.
I lok forward to trying their Cuban sandwich.
I came here to grab a beef empanada for a snack, and it was pretty good. I made sure to get the green sauce. Green sauce was great! Empanada was small, but crispy outside and hot inside. The flavor was good too. Only downside was $2.17 for a really small empanada. I should come back here to try the food sometime!
