I found this on yelp, staff was amazing to help with first time service and ordering. Always a person stocking and cleaning and the food was good and on time. Love it here.
I literally just ate the most delicious spicy chicken sandwich and now I'm writing this review because I'm so happy I discovered this place!
For less than $7, I got a spicy chicken sandwich on a roll that included mozzarella cheese, jalapenos, caramelized onions and tobasco sauce. Considering the area that this deli is in, this place is a steal!
It's your standard hole-in-the-wall deli but has a plethora of food options–you can get an assortment of food at the buffet stand, get a salad, cold cuts or hot sandwiches, burgers, as well as a bunch of other things. I'll definitely be coming back again!
Cheap sandwiches but these sandwiches lack quality. I ordered this in for lunch at work. I had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich and my coworker had the cranberry turkey sandwich. The corned beef and pastrami was completely sub par. The Cranberry turkey sandwich contained canned cranberry sauce.
Fresh food at the buffet section everyday! They weigh it by the pound so you can get whatever you want! They have a nice selection of foods to choose from. I always come here to get my lunch since it's so affordable compared to everything around the upper east side. Decent place in which I will come back again and again.
My son and were were on our way to one of our favorite food trucks near the corner of 68th St. and Lexington Ave. when we discovered it was not parked there that day. So we then went in search of a good cheap deli (and this place fit the bill thanks to Yelp).
We ended up going here twice during my two day visit in the city. On the the first visit we got roast beef hoagies. My son's had cheddar while mine had swiss. Both were topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapeño peppers and spicy mustard – Delicious! And cheap. Perhaps not the best quality ingredients, but decent and fast. About 12 bucks and change with sodas.
The were ( are) a few scant tables in the place to sit and eat. Next to us were four or 5 young hispanic workers, off the clock, drinking tall cans / tall bottles of beer chatting away in Spanish.
For the second meal (the next day) we had 2 breakfast platters here. They consisted of 2 eggs, bacon, toast, and home fries. My son had a club soda while I had a V8. Again, about 12 bucks and change. Good, cheap and fast. Decent quality. I am a fan and will be back when in the neighborhood.
Perhaps this place really deserves 3.5 stars; however, it may not suit everyones tastes. The folks that run this place are nice people and they sell no-frills (yet good quality) product for a low price in an area known for vendors selling low / sub-par quality stuff at a high / inflated prices.
