  1. I'm pretty sure this is my favorite standard diner in NYC.  I don't even live around here, and I find myself coming here just for food sometimes.  The menu here, as with most standard diners, has a large variety of breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner options.

You can't really go wrong here if you order breakfast or brunch foods.  The omelette, waffles, french toast, corned beef hash, are all solidly made.  Eggs have always been made to order for me.  Some of the french toast/waffle options get pretty deliciously heavy too with chocolate, nutella, peanut butter, and whatnot.

The nacho tots are amazing to share too (think your typical ultimate nachos plate…with tater tots instead of chips).

  2. Its bright orange sign and modern, sleek decor got me curious about this place, I could not have guessed that this is actually what I call a classic diner! Extensive menu of everything and anything, long lists of combinations of breakfast, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. There is always something for everyone at anytime of the day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This is what I love about diners especially here!

Table for two, no wait at all in mid-morning hours. I opt for the booth seats because that's what diner experiences are all about! My companion opt for his simple two eggs, breakfast sausages, and home fries. He commented that he really liked the home fries and impressed with the two big sausage links he got! I woke up super hungry therefore, I went for their weekend brunch special: Chorizo Avocado Eggs Benedict which comes with home fries and a plate of fresh fruits, brunch cocktail or juice, and coffee or tea. I went for the Peach Bellini and coffee. Poached eggs were perfectly made and I love the whole avocado I got in my dish because usually, it's never enough! I did think that the hollandaise sauce was too much more like gravy that went better with the home fries than the eggs itself. Huge portion and a great value! Not to mention, it was really good! Peach Bellini was sweet and refreshing. Coffee is better than average quality. I am impressed!

My companion and I go out for brunch almost every weekend but sometimes, we need a break from the long waits and complex food menus with not-so-everyday ingredients. We just wanted something more closer to homemade and simple. Good Eats Diner was the answer!

  3. My new favorite brunch place.

Portions are huge, their menu is extensive, and the flavors are on point. I've been here twice and tried the Green Eggs & Ham (favorite), Southwest Benedict, Healthwich, loaded tater tots, and their banana Nutella French toast. They have innovative dishes in addition to classic breakfast staples.

You won't be disappointed. I usually arrive around 12/1 as a party of two and it's pretty easy to find parking and the wait isn't too long.

  4. Excellent food. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners!

Equally and maybe more importantly is the service.  From busing the tables to bringing coffee to wait staff to owner and son. All pitch in to make eating at this local diner a pleasure.

No rushing. Apps or fruit or starters brought well ahead of meal. No crowding of plates. Coffee and drinks replenished frequently. No charge for refills or sides of dressing. All requests accommodated without issue.

Meals large enough in size to always take leftovers home. A great experience all the way around.

  5. Been wanting to come here for a while now. There was already a line out of the door when we drove up so I had Anna H get out to leave our name.
After finding parking I got there and we were next to be seated.

Both Anna and I ordered from the weekend Brunch Menu:
I got the Avocado Toast which came with a baked sweet potato. I also got a decaf coffee and the bellini which was so yummy. I loved my avocado toast and my poached eggs were cooked to perfection…oozing out as I cut into it.

Anna H ordered the fried Chicken and Waffle Benedict, with a mimosa. Her food came with an arugula salad which she seemed to really enjoy.

Both of us got a small bowl of fresh fruit before our food came out which was nice.

We will definitely be back…i want to try the pancakes…they looked amazing and huge!

So glad I finally got to check this off my list.

  6. 3.5 star rating!

I want some brunch & found this place through yelp. It was the closest place from where I live & decided to give it a try.

I picked my order from their brunch menu. It was the crab cake benedict $16 with coffee, juice & fresh fruits on the side. My bf got a burger & loaded tator tots- it has sour cream, bacon & gravy. Ehhh, everything taste okay. I didn't really like the hollandaise sauce with some caramel onion on my crab cake benedict. Its too sweet. The only thing is their serving is huge! 2 persons can have 1 order. I'm just not impressed with the taste of the food but service is good. Servers are nice!

  7. If you want to drown your sorrows, die in happiness, etc, then come eat here. This place is like the epitome of straight up comfort food…you know for just those sh!tty days. It may take like a day to actually read through their large extensive menu, but this place definitely elevates your classic diner food.

    Highlights: (over 2 separate visits)
    1. Pancakes – HUGE. The blueberry ones are amazing. HUGE French toast options too.
    2. Weekend Brunch – so much food for your money! Entree, fruit salad, juice, coffee.
    3. Fried Chicken and Waffle (brunch) – Yes. Please.
    4. So many heart attack sandwich options to choose from. Everything starts blending together after a while.
    5. Disco Tots – enough tater tots smothered in cheese and gravy to share with your army of peeps.

The wait can be a bit longer with lines out the door, especially on weekends. The service here is very courteous though. This place doesn't sit well for those dieting; for those who DGAF, you should stop by here.

  8. There was already a line formed almost out of the door so I quickly got out of the car. They don't take down names so you have to wait in line for the next available table and all parties has to be presented as well. The person that runs the front of the house should watch closely whose next in line because I felt bad for the couple in front of me that this woman decided to cut them *be considered as everyone is starving duh*! As the line moved up, I was leaning against the door when the couple that stood behind me knew that there's a hook to keep the door open. We started to chat a bit and they mentioned that the portions are huge and the ingredients are fresh…definitely they are a regular at Good Eats Diner =)

The guy seated us at a small table in between the comfy booths and counter top seating area that's the worst seat of the place because the food runners are passing by our table carrying beverage and dishes and its right in front of the bathroom.

    Weekend Brunch Menu:
Andrea G. got the (1) Avocado Toast with a decaf cup of coffee and a Bellini which comes with a fruit salad. I wasn't able to try her dish as I am super allergic to avocado but I could tell that she really enjoyed it. The baked sweet potato looked so out of place from the vibrant colors of her Avocado Toast. I think it should be paired off with something else…just a thought!

After Andrea G. was reading the description of (24) Fried Chicken and Waffle Benedict, my heart was set on it so I got that with a Mimosa which comes with a fruit salad as I ate around it because I am allergic to honeydew and cantaloupe. Wooooo the first egg benedict had this beautiful yoke oozing out of it onto the Fried Chicken and I poured some delicious maple syrup onto the yummy waffle mmmm! OMG I love the arugula salad with crispy bacon bits and cranberries. Everything on my plate really worked deliciously-well =)

As we were leaving the restaurant, the couple asked how we enjoy the food and they were happy our thumbs up lol

If you are seeking a brunch spot, definitely stop by here because me and Andrea G. will be back soon as the rest of the Brunch menu is hubba hubba *drools*!
