  1. I am 5 star all in on the Boiling Pot!  Some strange osmosis of Korean & Cajun seafood boil, ok!  Boil came in a big bag, mix of spices with crawfish, shrimp, clams, mussels and snow crab. Put on your bib and the plastic gloves and dig in! Crazy good!

  2. This place is excellent. Decently priced, friendly staff, and meaty crab legs. I came here three times within the past two months and ordered Deal A, surprisingly filling for two. Parking is limited (see lot on the left side of building), claim your free bottle of beer via Yelp, and be sure to wear stretchy pants 😉

  3. It's like the The Boil in Manhattan, except cheaper, better service and without the 2 hour wait. (I'm not disparaging The Boil though. It's a great place). The Boiling Pot is, however in Jersey, so you gotta weigh these things.

Love the kitschy fish shack decor. It looks like it should be next to a beach instead of Fort Lee. It was quite empty on a Saturday night. Our server was very friendly and attentive, He actually put our lobster bibs (more like aprons) on us and helped us with our gloves.

We ordered a combo seafood boil, which came with crab legs, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, corn on the cob, sausages, and Korean rice cakes (that last one is obviously a Fort Lee bonus item). We chose the garlic butter over the Cajun seasoning. You can also have as much free rice as you like, but we skipped that. Why fill up your stomach with carbs when you could be eating more seafood?

The seafood was fresh and delicious. The crab legs were huge. I liked the crab, crawfish, and mussels the best, though the sausage added some nice meatiness and salt to the meal. It was a very fun meal to eat, as you eat right off the paper covered table and things get messy. With some very decent cocktails, this was a very enjoyable meal.

  4. We got the combo A for 2 people for $45. The bag didn't look that big, but we quickly filled up. The rice also helped. I really liked the rice cakes, fishcakes, huge clams, shrimp and sausage. The sauce was spicy but not too spicy. The crab legs were ok (not a lot of meat), mussels (some were closed), crawfish (just so small…). We valet parked. No wait around 7pm.

  5. This place was so accommodating! On Thanksgiving, we were too lazy to cook and were craving Boiling Crab..We called ahead to make sure they were open and asked when they would close. We were told that they planned to close around our ETA. When asked if it was our first time, she told us that she would tell the kitchen to wait for us.

When we arrived, we were literally the only people there. We felt horrible that we made everyone stay longer on Thanksgiving, but everyone was extremely friendly. They assured us that it wasn't a big deal. Even while ordering and while we dined, everyone was very patient.

Don't forget that a check-in on Yelp gives you a free beer! We ordered the combo seafood boil for two. It includes crab, crawfish, shrimp, mussels, clams, potatoes, corn on the cob, rice cakes, and sausages (not sure if I'm missing anything.) When talking to our server, she told us that they were slightly different from Boiling Crab. They were olive oil based and the boil requires a six hour recipe.

While we were waiting for our food, she gave us kettle popcorn. When our food arrived, we immediately dove in. The crab and shrimp were a bit soggy. Perhaps the seafood was precooked or had boiled for a bit too long. Regardless, everything tasted really good. We actually preferred this cajun sauce for its simplicity. It tasted less heavy and allowed us to actually taste the seafood. Tools to help crack the crab, as well as gloves were provided.

Afterwards, you can order pasta to add to your bag. It comes already slightly tossed with a bit of vegetables, and you can add some parmesan to it. Though I really enjoyed the seafood, I've actually been craving the pasta a lot!

Overall, our experience was absolutely wonderful!

  6. Eh it was just OK. Mixed bag of small sized seafood and portions were small. They gave a lot more fillers like rice cakes and corn and offered free rice so you can get full on carbs.

A/c was on low and we were on the top floor so it was uncomfortably warm. Doesn't help when you are trying to eat spicy seafood making you even warmer. Ordered some draft craft beers to cool us off but sadly their kegs are not kept cold either and the beers got warm quickly.

This place was always on my bookmarks but probably will not return.

  7. Down by the bayou called New Jersey in a little watering hole called Fort Lee you'll find Boiling Pot. A true gem amidst the towering glass skyscrapers that offers a deliciously unique experience: both emotional and physical. The Boiling Pot special for 2 ($45.00) is an unbelievable deal for what you get: crawfish, clams, mussels, snow crab, corn, potatoes, rice sticks, and fish sticks. Talk about a visual and tasteful experience. I totally recommend this place for your family and friends. Just don't be afraid to get dirty. My suggestions is to not wear your Sunday best or white clothing. Even though you are provided with an apron (not a bib) and gloves….there's a chance you may not come out looking your cleanest.
As for the staff… AMAZING. NICE. HELPFUL. APPRECIATIVE. WELCOMING. I can go on for ever. Come visit and have a great time. Did I mention that it's family owned and operated. Yums!

  8. So the first thing they serve you when you arrive is a bag of popcorns, +1 for playful creativity. Seafood is the name of the game and they have delivered on both quality and taste – there is no superior way to bring out the flavors of fresh seafood than marrying them together with the rustic style of Creole cooking.

The menu has both mixed seafood and individual orders. When I'm here with a party of around 4, I always order at least 1 mixed, and additional individual orders depending on everyone's likes and dislikes. Another thing that I always get is the pasta. Why let the juices go to waste? Just throw the pasta in and let it absorb all the colorful juices. Overall, I would say that their stuff is on the spicier side. A final note on service, we had a really awesome waitress the first time around, but on a separate occasion, the waiter forgot our popcorn and it never came, among many other things that he wasn't on point that night.
