  1. The location kinda sucks and the place is tiny. Food is alright but how is it that every single time i go here i get the runs right after?!?!

    iSad. 🙁

  2. Walked in here for a pickup and I didn't realize how tiny and grimy this place is.  Sushi is here okay with reasonable prices.  We ordered the Regular sushi/sashimi/roll, for 2 people and it was a good amount of food for $36 plus tax.

    FYI, it's a tiny place and there's no parking.  Also, they are cash only.

  3. This place sucks. Don't go here. It is a buffet with premade sushi in a container that is chill. The portions are small and the sushi is horrible. Don't cut corners and go here

  4. It is definitely time for an UPDATE!  Time to RAVE IT UP some more!!!

    Sushi Family is like my favorite movie, one that will always stay put on my TOP shelf..

    I used to go to Sushi Family a lot, very frequently actually, and then I took a semi-break.  And then the break became longer than expected and I forgot about Sushi Family.  =(  Just recently, I started missing Sushi Family and finally returned.  I'm sorry for neglecting my favorite movie, opps, I mean Sushi restaurant!!

    My dine-in experience was just as nice as 2 years ago. Friendly and generous service!  Were given lots of complementary appetizers, such as miso soup, salad, edamame, and two additional side dishes.  Was already half way full by the time entrees arrived.  Tip:  No need to call for additional food!!!

    ~~~~~~~The combo platters taste just the same and still come with the same amount of food, enough to fulfil the hungry tummy!
    Recommend:  Kalbi Bento Box comes w/ California Roll, Fried Pork Cutlet (ton katsu), Miso Soup & Rice).
    ~~~~~~~The Sushi rolls taste just the same, especially the california roll, which is still unique and different from all of the other places I've been to!
    REcommend:  Regular "A" – 13 pcs (1 person) (Nigiri 7 pcs & California Roll)

    All the food is still absolutely FRESH!  Almost everything is good and delicious on the menu.  Trust me, the menu is so fulfilling by itself that I still yet to try everything!

    ***Sushi Family is still one of my faaavorite places for COMFORT SUSHI !! #NOdoubt

    Note:  Recommended for small groups up to 4 ppl.  Place is rather small so take-out is highly suggested.

  5. I came here based on the Yelp reviews for the AYCE menu. Sadly, I wasn't too impressed. The buffet style sushi that they left out there wasn't very good at all. The choices for the AYCE menu were lacking. The only thing good was the price. At $15.99, it was about $10 less than River (the AYCE that we always go to). We saw other tables with huge sushi platters that look amazing. However, unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning.

  6. Fast food dive for sushi on the run.

    This place is CASH only, but as cheap as you get for sushi. Quality isn't very high but you get what you pay for.

    If your an addict like me this is a place to get your sushi fix if your a local. But I would go out of my way too far to see this place.

  7. came here for the ayce sushi on the weekends which was 15.99 a person.

    fairly cheap for ayce sushi in flushing, this place is tiny and no frills. They had one waitress and one sushi chef working at the time

    my guess is, in order to be efficient, what they have done is they premade some of the sushi rolls and left them out for you to pick at and take if you came for ayce sushi. I took a couple of pieces and quickly realized that the sushi must have been siting out for quite some time. The rice was incredible cold and stale, and in turn the sushi crumbled into cold stale chunks as i ate it.

    The special rolls on the other hand were made fresh, but they were not all that impressive as they lacked variety, and were basically variations of the same 4 or 5 ingredients.

    overall not terrible, but its really not that good either. If they made everything fresh instead of leaving certain items to sit
    it would definitely improve on the quality

  8. I will not lie. It looks pretty depressing in here but the restaurant has nice people working here!

    You gotta find street parking if you're driving here.. And it's not always the best.

    The sushi isn't bad and their bento boxes are very cute. They were delicious! Even though the restaurant looks depressing, I would definitely come back
