Chick-fil-A

“The waffle fries are also good, but I felt that they don't have that much salt (probably why they have salt packets at the counter for you).”

“But these guys do an amazing job of managing the long lines by having menus ready by the door and taking your orders on tablets while you wait on line.”

“Friday about 7pm, long line but plenty of open cashiers so it went by pretty fast.”

  1. GETS SUUUUPER BUSY: it's closer to even more workers in high rises coming out for lunch on weekdays. I suggest you ALL order ahead with their app.

MUCH SMALLER than their 1ST NYC location further downtown on 6TH AVE.

[AHEAD OF THEIR TIME: when it comes to placing/taking orders.]  They walk down the line with tablets, taking your order so by the time you arrive to register to pay YOUR FOOD IS READY — or you just wait 1-2 extra minutes depending on your personal order.  * ALSO, order on the Chick FilA app and you can check in when near THEN go right inside and pick up your food. It should be ready*

STAFF = FRIENDLY.   Well spoken.  However, they cannot compete with the down south crew.

FOOD: top notch fast food. Quality is on point, and THE WAFFLE FRIES.  BOMB.COM o~*

HONEY BBQ SAUCE IS TOP NOTCH.

  2. This place is ultra-efficient. Even with lines out the door, you're in & out in 10 minutes. People process your order while you are in line and this speeds everything up substantially.

Prefer this sandwich over Shake Shack's chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit wetter / juicier.

  3. This place does get as packed as people say.  Friday about 7pm, long line but plenty of open cashiers so it went by pretty fast.  Super friendly staff.  Provides sauces on request, and has a line of all the sauces so you know which ones you can order.  I am a big sauce person.

Plenty of seats upstairs, had no issues finding a spot.  Two people are there to clean up so everything was pretty clean as well.

  4. What took me so long to go to Chick Fil A in NYC????  Well I am from the Midwest (but to most New Yorkers it is all considered the South) and I did not feel like Chick Fil A in NYC would be just as good.  Yesterday I was feeling rather adventurous on my way home so I dropped in on a Thursday night around 7:30.

The setup threw me for a loop when I first walked in because I couldn't which door was the exit or entrance.  Hopped in line and there was about 10 people in front of me waiting to order.  They have employee staffed just to take your order while you wait in line and take they take your name as well.  I got my go to fav 8 piece chicken nugget meal with a large lemonade. I got up to the cash register section of the restaurant and the the employee will ask you for your name to pull up the transaction.  At this point you pay and get your drink.  Then you wait for your name to be called so you can pick up your meal.  This entire process took less than 10 minutes, which I do not consider bad for fresh and hot food.

Seating is very limited here so do not bring your whole family here for a sit down dinner.  I highly recommend that snag a seat when you see it, sit on the window ledge, or go to a nearby park to eat.

Here is the low down on my food:
    – My chicken nuggets were hot and just as I remembered them
    – The lemonade was a lot sweeter than it should be
    – The fries were super salty

Overall it was not a bad experience and probably be back to satisfy my craving every now and again.

  5. Yasssssss. Chick Fil A in midtown. Dreams really do come true!!!!!

Politics aside, this place rocks. It's the only fast food that I eat.

This location is small (as everything in Manhattan is) but they manage it SO well. The line is outside but moves ridiculously fast.

As if you were in a drive thru, the employees gather your order onto an iPad and place the order by your name.

Most people know about the food but here are my tips:
-Always closed on Sunday's. And why yes, almost every time you crave Chick Fil A, it'll be a Sunday. -__-
-If you're an adult who enjoys getting kids meals, grab a kids meal. They will sub in ice cream instead of a toy so uh, yeah. Totes worth it.
-Know what you want when you get there
-Chikn minis are the best thing on the breakfast menu, on the real.

    Go getcha some.

  6. This location is much smaller than the one near Penn Station but it's no less good! There isn't much of a line and you get your order pretty quickly. There's a row of seating by the window-makes it fun to people watch. Glad that there's another convenient location now to spread around the crowds in the city!

  7. No greeting as you enter. I was told to wait for five minutes because they were still serving breakfast. That is unless I wanted my chicken on a bagel. Ha!
Finally ordered. She charged me extra for each item. I don't remember paying that much before.
Next you go sit or stand by the side wall with everyone else. Everyone complaining how it's over priced.
Finally called my name. This location has very little seating. It's not comfortable. You have to sit on a high stool with small counter space. Used my paper bag as a dish.
Started to enjoy. Nope, not my day. Chicken was stringy. It had a funny taste after a few bites. I hope I don't get sick.
Final decision: The only thing I liked was the wall art! See my photos.
Sorry Chick fil A I'm over you. If I do return it won't be to this location.

  8. So I finally bit the bullet and went to chick fil a, in part because I downloaded the app and got a free sandwich, and then line wasn't astronomically long for once.

I got the spicy chicken sandwich with a multigrain bun, lettuce, and tomatoes -each of those are extra btw…but, the multigrain bun is a surprisingly nice option for a glorified 'preachy' version of Roy Rogers (now banished to the Jersey Turnpike and Parkway rest areas).  The ordering process is fairly efficient, so seemingly long lines aren't as bad as they appear.

All overall, the spicy chicken sandwich was decently sized, crispy, and fairly juicy for what I would have expected. Not too shabby.

That said, there are plenty of other places / food trucks in the area I'd much rather have to wait for than Chick fil a. It's a decent meal…but, it's really just fast food.
