“Beautiful pastries, terrific croissants and excellent beverages.”

“I recommend just getting a side order of 5 grain bread (which is 3.50, it has nuts and rasins in it too) and just load up with the hazelnut spread and jams.”

  1. Service is always slow at LPQ. I was ignored by most of the staff members here, from the time I was waiting on line to be seated to my time at the communal table.

On the bright side, the young man who did seat me and take my order was very kind and lovely.

The butternut squash soup was very lukewarm, closer to cold than hot. The salmon tartine was good as usual and the espresso was to die for.

  2. YELP 365 CHALLENGE – 2014: 22/365

Top 5 reasons why you should consider eating here:

    1. Food healthy & clean

    2. Organic & Gluten Free options

    3. Walking distance to the MET Museum

    4. Walking distance to the MET Museum

    5. Did I mention walking distance to the MET Museum?

  3. LPQ's are consistently four stars in my book — they offer pretty, tasty, relatively healthy gourmet salads, sandwiches, and soups in addition to baked goods, espresso drinks, and breads, all for a little more than you'd like to pay. However, this location feels smaller, more cramped, and appears to have an abridged menu. For that reason, I'm docking it a star. There are so many LPQ's in the city, especially on the UES, that I would probably skip this one in the future.

  4. We had awesome day at Met so we stopped for a bite here & loved it . It's relaxed ambiance and good food! Will come back again!

  5. For a franchise as large as this to run out of apple cider, hot chocolate, and half a dozen menu staples,, right in the middle of the New York City Marathon, in the heart of the finish area, is inexcusable. Has to be terribly managed- not to mention the $10 they charged us for a small cup of bland soup.

  6. A Healthy Breakfast that is fun, and enjoyable!  Contrary to other reviews I enjoyed the energy and variety here.  Fresh OJ, scones, coffee.  Is this a place for foodies–certainly not.  However, there is something to be said for a place that always serves quality!

  7. Good cafe and good healthy eats. It's simple and sophisticated at the same time. I always order the quinoa salad with a latte, or lemonade… Comes with bread that I slather on jelly and Nutella… Voíla! Instant delicious dessert. You may have to request it for them to bring it over but comes with the meal. Dark chocolate, Nutella, apricot and berry jam available. Honestly everything I have here has been simple, well made food. It's more of a breakfast/lunch spot. Service is great. Clean. Reasonable prices. Great, easy place to meet friends and chat. Most places have outdoor seating as well.  I'll be coming back again and again at different locations in NYC… Never had anything less than good here.

  8. 2.5: This place was very busy when we came for brunch on a Saturday and they tout their fresh ingredients. Once we were seated, the server took a long while to take our orders, get our food out, forgot part of someone's order and only remembered after prompted, and to get the check. She also didn't check on us once. That type of lackluster service overshadowed the food, which was fine. I had the frittata ($12.95), which was cooked well. The salad was well dressed; I particularly liked the radishes thrown in. It also came with two pieces of bread, which didn't seem like they just came out of the oven and we weren't given any butter as an accompaniment. The yogurt parfait looked good as well.

I really want to like this place more, but it is a bit pricey and the service this time wasn't great. Other branches might differ.
