  1. Really solid diner with an old-timey, neighborhood feel. No frills and no bs. Walk in and there may be a short wait, but rest assured you'll get a seat. You'll also see a cross-section of the neighborhood here. I wonder how much longer places like these can survive in New York.

All the breakfast staples are available, though you'll be hard-pressed to find fancier brunch dishes. Service is efficient and straightforward.

The prices are ridiculous–more out of 70s New York or present day Midwest. Two thumbs up!

  2. Yelped this place because it was close to where I was. Came in that day with a group of 7 people; total 8 of us. They were very quick to accomodate which is always a good thing for customers. The set up is very old school, with a U shape bar in the center of the place and little booths scattered inside. The menu is the traditional diner menu. We all ordered from the breakfast special menu. Each dish came with small cup of OJ, coffee or tea and the entree. I ordered corned beef hash, medium eggs with bagel. It was tasty.

This is the kind of place I wuold come to all the time if I lived in the neighborhood. Good service and good food. No reason NOT to come back!

  3. Consistent! After a dismal outing at Manchester Diner, I had to come to the belly stuffer. I can now nod at Mike, by the counter. He knows I am going to destroy a plate of pancakes with sausage links and coffee. I am always satisfied!
If the eye offends you, then run up the street and take a pic of Manchester with your phone. Then run back. By then your heaping mound of breakfast diner food will we waiting for you. And you won't be disappointed.

  4. Sorry, folks.

I actually like to have at least one veggie in my breakfast. I like well-tasting coffee, and friendly service. I also try to keep my Cholesterol under 200.

    What is wrong with me?

  5. It's cheap. It's no frills. It offers "bagel with schmear" on its menu without a hint of joking or irony. The French toast tastes like bacon because they were most likely cooked on the same griddle. The home fries are all crispy crunchy awesome on the outside.

Best of all, I can eat what I consider to be my personal Breakfast of Champions* for about $8. WINNING.

    * – French toast, home fries, and a big ass glass of ice cold chocolate milk, OBVIOUSLY.

  6. This place is just okay.  I figure a judgment of a good diner is their breakfast. I've been here twice and it's like eh.  Their pancakes are very dry and not very fluffy, a hallmark of the perfect pancake.  Coffee, VERY weak.  And I'm kind of weird, as I like diner coffee.  Last bastion of coffee-flavored coffee is usually found in a diner.  I went in and had some eggs and toast.  Their potatoes are ok.  Not heavy on the onions/peppers, and the crispy good touches.  I mean, I guess I can get eggs/bacon/sausage anywhere.  This place really isn't anything special.  But they do get points for having a nice staff.  Prices are good too.

  7. Come on yelpers.. 4 stars… No way. Breakfast pancakes and waffles were ok everything else was bad bad bad.

Special: Yankee pot roast not made fresh tasted like school cafeteria food complete with instant mashed potatoes, canned gravy, canned beans, and stale roll. Oh yeah wilted salad lacking any remnants of green color.

Spinach omelette… You guessed it canned spinach!!!

What ever happened to fresh ingredients and fresh food.

Cash only- thanks for the reminder that you cheat your taxes while I pay!!!

Finally service: lousy!!! One guy for the entire place.

    Avoid this place

  8. We were looking for a diner that would help cure our hangovers…and settled on broadway restaurant due to the high yelp ratings.
We got in a little bit before the rush (~1030 on Sunday) so we only waited 5 minutes to sit down but when we were leaving, there was a crowd of about 15 at the door.
Ordered: chicken noodle soup, coffee, sausage egg cheese on whole wheat, and the mets omelette. The food came extremely fast. Service was mediocre; we had to try and get their attention a few times before we got refills on our water and coffees. Food was only okay. I like that they use link sausages and the chicken soup was good, although tasted like it came from a can.
Prices are very inexpensive, but not sure if I would return. It's just a regular diner that doesn't really stand out in my opinion.
    Also, cash only.
